ObeySteve 09-03-2004, 01:52 PM I figured that we could have a bit of a competition to see who can best correctly predict overall how the season will go this year.
What you must include the following predictions:
-Each of the 8 division winners, as well as the 4 wild card teams
-The Coach of the Year
-The Offensive MVP
-The Defensive MVP
-The Rookie of the Year
-The result of the NFC and AFC championships
-The Super Bowl championship
How this will be scored:
-Two points will be given for correctly predicting a division winner. If a team you predicted to win the divison gets a wild card spot, you recieve ONE point for that.
-Two points will be given for correctly predicting a wild card team. If a team you predicted to get a wild card spot wins their division, you recieve ONE point for that.
-Three points for having the Coach of the Year
-Three points for having the Offensive MVP
-Three points for having the Defensive MVP
-Three points for having the Rookie of the Year
-Two points for correctly predicting a team to be in their conference championship
-Two additional points for correctly predicting a team to win their conference
-Four additional points for correctly predicting the Super Bowl champion
So, the maximum amount of points one can recieve is 52 points.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The deadline to post your predictions is September 8th. The standings will be updated immediately once the NFL awards for the season are given out, as well as at the end of the regular season, and then updated once more after the postseason ends.
Quick forewarning: If anyones predictions posts are edited at any point after the deadline, you will be automatically disqualified. No excuses whatsoever.

and the jags aren't in the NFC ;)
ObeySteve 11-25-2004, 07:50 AM Bumping this for the first time to allow people to see how their predictions are going with the playoff picture starting to slowly come into focus.
Big props to Chris_Dub for predicting the Steelers to win their division, and um....everyone can point and laugh at DanMcGillis03 for predicting the Cowboys to win the NFC East and the Eagles not making the playoffs.
Fire Sather 11-25-2004, 11:18 AM AFC

Green Bay to represent NFC in the bowl.
ObeySteve 01-03-2005, 05:00 PM Here are the standings so far, taking into account just division and wild-card predictions....which make up a little less than half of the total points.

MontrealCruiser_83 and ATG put up the most points for one conference with an amazing 10 points for the NFC.
Recap of the scoring system for this part:
-Two points will be given for correctly predicting a division winner. If a team you predicted to win the divison gets a wild card spot, you recieve ONE point for that.
-Two points will be given for correctly predicting a wild card team. If a team you predicted to get a wild card spot wins their division, you recieve ONE point for that.
Sly Winkle 01-03-2005, 05:05 PM Yuck, I have Holmgren as coach of the year and Seattle winning the Super Bowl. Making more of a bold prediction like that was stupid. :lol
ObeySteve 01-03-2005, 05:09 PM I think Chris_Dub has the best chance of winning at this exact point in time. He's tied for the lead for the standings, has the Offensive MVP right and has a decent shot of getting both Super Bowl teams right.
This thing is still wide open, though.

Clayton has a good chance at being rookie of the year though. :yo:
