Lundmark signs with Bolzano

September 17, 2004 -- Jamie Lundmark has become the first Ranger to commit to playing in Europe during the NHL lockout.
Unable to reach an accord with Ranger management to guarantee his $1,127,500 major league contract were he to suffer an injury playing under an AHL deal in Hartford — the Rangers might have been prohibited from doing so by the NHL — Lundmark yesterday reached an agreement to play for the Bolzano club in the Italian League.

The agreement includes an escape clause that will allow the 23-year-old pivot, who sustained a sprained right MCL that limited him to 56 games last year, to return to the Rangers as soon as the lockout ends.

We had rumours of some NHLers coming over here... Some say that Richard Park will join SG Cortina.

Modano might come too.

Fata signed too.

And Craig Adams had already signed with Milano.

SG Cortina got Matt Cullen, by the way, not Richard Park.

There are a few names rumoured... Ethan Moreau is another one.
Some newspapers say that also HC Alleghe could be looking for an NHLer but it sounds extremely unlikely to me.

It seems to me you're one of a really very small group of fans who have confidence in him... :dunno:

In my opinion the problem isn't Mankan. The problem is that Milano has only 2 real defensemen, Helfer and Källarsson.

Is this Magnus Eriksson who played with Augsburg last season ??

He´s been one of my favorite goalies in the DEL, although he´s been mediocre at best.

Any info about Gruber ?
I´ve been on holidays at Meran (Hafling was the place exactly) and i had a little talk with Gruber´s father.
Is he still playing and if yes how is he doing ?

Accoring to eurohockey.net he signed with Bolzano.

If you´re just watching and not cheering for one team he´s fun to watch :)

If you´re just watching and not cheering for one team he´s fun to watch :)Quite frankly, personally i have always thought that the only way to get fun watching Scott Beattie play is cheering for his team and his eventual goals.. :innocent:

Hehe - when you´re unbiased, Beattie is a guy who´s always visible. He´s doing little things all the time and so IMO he´s "good" for the game. He gets the game going - this way or another way ;)
Maybe it´s "my style", cause i like it when guys are creating/making games or plays...

The opposite would be someone like Reid Simonton who´s a solid dman, but you won´t recognize him the whole season, although he makes a mistake here and there or does soemthing good. He´s too stoic and sometimes lethargic, so i´m more into the "active" game (sometimes active becomes dirty..)

Yes he's (Eriksson), and he's playing so good here in Milano.

Gruber is playing this year in SV Renon because Merano was sent down in Italy2 due to a bankruptancy at the beginning of the season.
