For the Habs, Mike Komisarek will be there, that's it. Although Higgins and or Plekanec I think would have made the Habs and maybe Kostitsyn if Kovalev didn't sign, but we'll never know.

Also in Hamilton, Trevor Daley and Steve Ott will be on loan from the Stars.

I think there was some concern that players who dressed for 50 or more NHL games last season wouldn't be eligible, but that was resolved.

They aren't my team anymore but here's the list of players sent to the San Antonio camp already from the Panthers (with players that were in FL at one point last season in bold):

LW Eric Beaudoin, D Jay Bouwmeester, LW Gregory Campbell, C Rob Globke, RW Paul Healey, D Burke Henry, C Scott Kelman, D Lukas Krajicek, C Kamil Kreps, D Grant McNeill, D Filip Novak, LW Ryan Jardine, RW Ty Jones, D Jeremy Swanson, C Kamil Piros, C Petr Taticek, D Victor Uchevatov and C Stephen Weiss will report to San Antonio training camp beginning Sept. 24.

Horton was added to this list when the CHL & NHL supposedly made the agreement so that Nathan will play for Canada's WJC team.

The most notable are obviously Bouwmeester, Weiss, Horton & Krajicek.

Tampa assigned a lot of players to Springfield, but only Shane Willis is a (sort of) NHL'er. Eric Perrin signed his own contract with Hershey (too many vets in Springfield for him to be able to play). Nikita Alexeev is supposed to sign his own contract with Springfield (Tampa's affiliate), but it hasn't happened yet.

For Washington, Portland will look a lot like last year after the Caps had their fire-sale.

Guys with NHL experience: Sutherby, Eminger, Morrisonn, Ouellet, Aulin, Cutta, Yonkman (assuming he can stay healthy, which is a huge assumption), Gordon, Laich, Fussey and Mink.

Fleischmann, Johansson and Daigneault will be joining them for their first season of pro hockey.

It looks like Semin will *not* play in the AHL this year.

I may be wrong, and if I am, someone please tell me, but I believe there are many players listed on European rosters who are not on those teams. Why wasn't Patrice given the option when he signed whether or not he was eligible to play in Providence that's up to Patrice and the Boston management and they should've known that this lockout would be imposed, why do we need for players to sign a strict contract with the affiliate while having a separate deal with the parent team, (Boston).

I can see signing an AHL Contract if you are signing with an organization that your NHL rights are not owned by.

There should've been a clause written in that should have said like you're seeing now or have recently where a player signs in Europe until the CBA is signed, like Eric Perrin, whose NHL rights are owned by 1 team but their affiliate has allotted their veteran limit, so he signed with Hershey and if and when that is resolved that contract will be reverted to a loan by Tampa Bay if needed.

I don't see the impetus for having players signing AHL deals with that organization's affiliate just so they can stay in shape while the NHL solves their labor difficulty.

Because the NHL/CHL age restriction, Patrice wouldn't have been able to play in the AHL until the 2005-06 season when his contract was drawn up. I imagine that is why he didn't have such a clause in his contract.
