There is a player on UVM named Jamie Siefers, I was wondering if anyone has seen him play and if he has any potential to be play any pro hockey? Thanks

I've seen plenty of Sifers both at Taft Prep and at UVM. He is an first rate NCAA player who gets Pronger type minutes because he is far and away the best Cats Dman. He is Captain as a junior at UVM which is quite unusual.

He is a Chelios clone at this level. Good offensively, great defensively (except when he is > 30 minutes). Not big, he hits with the best of them and can dominate the game from his defensive position.

How he will transfer his game at the next level is of course what scares folks. It is going to be a tall order for him to ever be a 5-6 Dman in the NHL. But don't bet against him either. He is worth a look by any shrewd GM in the business.

Here is a good article in the Burlington Free Press about Sifers:

I have season tickets to UVM hockey games, and I have seen Sifers play a lot. He really brings a lot to the table, plays with a lot of intensity. He is the second two-time captain on UVM. The other was Martin St Louis.
