VIEW THE FULL VERSION : Norway: Norway WC2012 team
SirKillalot 01-11-2012, 02:00 PM Well. It's time to speculate in a team I suppose:
Different options from another thread here:
Patrick Thoresen - Mathis Olimb - Mats Zuccarello
Per Åge Skrøder - Anders Bastiansen - Marius Holtet
Martin Røymark - Ken Andre Olimb - Mats Rosseli Olsen
Tommy Kristiansen - Kristian Forsberg - Robin Dahlstrøm
Jonas Holøs - Ole Kristian Tollefsen
Tommy Jakobsen - Mats Trygg
Stefan Espeland - Alexander Bonsaksen
Patrick Thoresen - Mats Frøshaug - Mats Zuccarello
Mathis Olimb - Anders Bastiansen - Marius Holtet
Per Åge Skrøder - Mads Hansen - Martin Røymark
Lars Erik Spets - Kristian Forsberg - Tommy Kristiansen/ Martin Laumann Ylven
If one of the top line guys get injured Mats Rosseli would be the call up, if one of the bottom six guys get injured I would call up Andreas Martinsen from Lillehammer. Scott Winkler could also be a possibility, he has had a great season in NCAA. Morten Ask would probably have to play D like he did last year.
Ole Tollefsen - Jonas Holøs
Aleks Bonsaksen - Mats Trygg
Morten Ask - Henrik Solberg
Lars Østli
Lars Haugen - Lars Volden - Pål Grotnes
Per Åge Skrøder - Patrick Thoresen - Mats Zuccarello
Mathis Olimb - Anders Bastiansen - Marius Holtet
Mats Frøshaug - Mads Hansen - Martin Røymark
Lars Erik Spets - Kristian Forsberg - Tommy Kristiansen/ Martin Laumann Ylven
Ole-Kristian Tollefsen - Jonas Holøs
Aleksander Bonsaksen - Mats Trygg
Morten Ask - Henrik Solberg
Lars Østli
Lars Haugen - Lars Volden - Ruben Smith
Have at it!
Chapin Landvogt 01-16-2012, 06:55 AM Time will tell... The team that was in Slovenia before Christmas wasn't terribly good. Then again, the program was certainly testing some guys and was only a ghost of the team that'll be at the WC this year.
I've got to be honest in saying that I wouldn't be too surprised if Sondre Olden is at least brought along to gather some experience. He was naturally the go-to guy at the U20 WJC. His skill level is the highest amongst the youngins in the program, but he wasn't necessarily dominant. In addition, I wonder if the program isn't considering bringing Rosseli Olsen along.
As just about always, the line-ups listed above are somewhat lacking in defensemen with strong international playing levels. The U20 tourney didn't indicate that this would be changing any time soon, even if there were two kids who have good possibilities should they continue to progress.
cheerupmurray 01-23-2012, 02:43 PM Robin Dahlström is probably not good enough top crack the team, but he should be a guy to consider for the future. He is pretty young (23) and still developing, hardworking, plays with grit and got a nose for the net (10 goals in 37 games in Allsvenskan). Maybe makes more sense to bring him rather than Ken Andre Olimb that have more talent but is more suited for a offensive role.
Mads Hansen is having a good year (a Selke candidate if that trophy would be handed out in Elitserien). Perfect third line center.
The defense seems to be the weakness of the team.
SirKillalot 01-23-2012, 05:21 PM The team selected for Euro Hockey Challenge in february:
41-year old Tommy Jakobsen with a comeback on the national team.
Again, Grotnes is in instead of Ruben Smith...

Besides Zuccarello... Will there be any other addition to the Euro Hockey Challange-team come WC-time?
babyshamble 02-16-2012, 07:22 AM Besides Zuccarello... Will there be any other addition to the Euro Hockey Challange-team come WC-time?
Vikingstad has just started practicing after being out with injury for a long time and is open to the idea of playing WC. If he has a good playoff I think he will be in.
We also have guys like Mats Rosselli (Frølunda), Mats Frøshaug (Lørenskog) and Scott Winkler (Colorado College) fighting for a spot. Juha Kaunismaki (Stavanger) was supposed to play in this tournament, but had to back out due to injury.

He will play in the AHL-Playoffs.
TollefsenFan 03-16-2012, 07:41 PM I hope our team looks like this. We need two scoring lines and an okey 3rd line! Our fourth line should be rly good with Lorentzen and Forsberg.
1. Skrøder - P.Thoresen (A) - M.Olimb (This is a line that can score ALOT of goals)
2. L.E.Spets - Bastiansen - Holtet
(Good defensive line + Spets and Bastiansen always play well together. Holtet was awesome last year)
3. Røymark - M.Hansen - K.A.Olimb
(Røymark and Hansen are perfect third liners. Not very good, not very bad.)
4. Kristiansen - Forsberg - Lorentzen (A great fourth line)
1. Tollefsen (C) - Holøs (The best :) )
2. Bonsa - Trygg (Hopefully Trygg wont be to offensive. We dont need 4 forwards)
3. Solberg - Jakobsen (A) (the dwarf needs a giant. Dnt mean to be rude, but its true :P )
7th Ask
1. Haugen
2. Grotnes (I know he is not the best, but Smith is just not good enough at this level.)
3. Volden (Volden is young and need more experience)
I would also like to see Ylven, Dahlstrøm, Rosseli Olsen on the team, but i cant find room for em .....
I miss Koivu :( I think he was just awesome last year. A big and strong deffender is what our team needs. Hopefully Solberg will step in and do a great job!
croAVSfan* 03-17-2012, 06:07 AM Jakobsen ? I thought that he retired from NT after Vancouver ?

He retired after wc 2010, but now he is back :)

I would have Frøshaug instead of KA Olimb and Ylven instead of Lorentzen and have Olimb or Rosselli as 13th forward.
TollefsenFan 03-17-2012, 11:23 AM I would have Frøshaug instead of KA Olimb and Ylven instead of Lorentzen and have Olimb or Rosselli as 13th forward.
We need Lorentzen. Ylven and Kristiansen are both good grinders, but we need a fast and hard working guy on the fourth line. We can also use Lorentzen on pk.
I dnt think its wise to use Rosseli this year, but perhaps next year. He is still young and need more experience. Frøshaug is a good player, but K.A Olimb played rly well last year, so i think he deserves a spot on the third line.
SphinX 04-19-2012, 06:07 AM Sk(G)rotnes instead of`Ruben Smith is the biggest friggin parody.. God

Grotnes got more exp then Smith. Thats the reason! Also Grotnes was great during the 2010 wc. Ended up with 92% save.
