First one of the year. I feel the better of the two penguin teams will beat Manitoba with solid goaltending.

Steve Latin* 10-13-2004, 05:36 PM First one of the year. I feel the better of the two penguin teams will beat Mantibo with solid goaltending. There's a more detailed, albeit biased, pre game write-up and thread here: http://www.hfboards.com/showthread.php?p=2001452#post2001452 Kudos go to MKN for his time and effort. S L X-SHARKIE 10-13-2004, 05:36 PM Yeah I'm looking forward to this one, I have Kesler and Koltsov on my keeper league team..... Not this weekend but the next I'll get to see Milwaukee at Chicago :) Good thing the AHL is here to get me threw this DAMN LOCKOUT! DJ Spinoza 10-13-2004, 06:06 PM Guess we can do the chat in here, doesn't matter to me. We'll jusr relocate the talk for Pens fans later, I guess. I didn't think anyone other than fans of the two teams would be listening, but now I remember this is the first hockey for a while. I have links to the internet broadcasts in that thread, if anyone wants to listen. Unless you are a Penguin fan, I'd reccomend listening to the Moose broadcast... Tom Grace is really a homer for the Pens. It doesn't bother me really, but I know it does bother some other Pens fans, and a non-biased person probably wouldn't like it. But, I'm uber-biased. :D Also, Grace really oversimplifies a lot of things because a lot of listeners in WBS (though most certainly not posters here) are relatively new to hockey and don't know much about it. It gets tiring as a die-hard fan, but new fans need to learn somehow. New rules for this AHL season, I'm sure you've seen them, but here they are: # Employing a shootout to decide regular-season games which are tied after overtime # Permission of “tagging up” to negate off-side plays # Implementation of “no-touch” icing # Widening the blue lines and center red line to 24 inches (from 12 inches) # Moving the goal line back to 11 feet from the end boards (from 13 feet) # A seven-week test, ending Nov. 28, restricting the areas where goaltenders may play the puck in an attempt to increase offensive opportunities without wholly eliminating a goaltender’s ability to assist his defensemen. cyrisweb 10-13-2004, 09:05 PM Final score 6-3 for the Moose. 2 goals for Abid 2 goals for King 2 goals for Roy I thought Flaherty, King, and Shultz played very well for the Moose. Kesler has a goal and played a solid game as well. | ||
