I'd be interested. If we're pickin' teams, I call dibs on Colts.

ObeySteve

I'm potentially interested.

But quick question first: Can this be based on if you were trying to build a team for right now rather than years to come? If we do this based on the potential of players in the future, then it loses its fun because its just based completely on personal guesses on the future of players and their potential success.

I suppose. If we do this based on now then a player like Michael Strahan who is 32 years old would be chosen fairly early. Oh screw it, we'll make it as if you're trying to win the superbowl this year. That might make it a little easier to pick.

So, so far only me and Hercules are in this I guess. Obeysteve if you're in call dibs on a team. I got the Bears, Hercules has got his hands on the Colts.

Not to stroke his ego or anything, but he's probably the most knowledgable NFL fan of the forums. He didn't get involved in the All-Time NFL Draft we had, so I'd like to see him in this if he's interested.

Here is a list of people who signed up for the All-Time NFL Draft, but weren't able to be relied upon because they didn't actually stay with the draft....meaning if any of these people attempt to sign up for this, I would advise strongly against allowing them to join:

-KariyaIsGod
-Dr. Love

But I'd definately be interested in doing this.

Judging by how long the NFL All-Time draft took, this should take 3 months if people actually follow the time limits.

Id say with 10 dedicated drafters this should take no longer than 1 month.

JCD what team you goin' to claim?

For sure, after all it is your team. It's not like you *have* to have 2 OLB and 1 MLB. you could have Ray Lewis, Urlacher, and Thomas as your 3 linebackers (they're all middle LB's) for all I care.

Just remember that we're going to probably be rating each other's teams when we're done the draft, and guys moved to positions other than their main one will be considered not quite as effective as if they were at their normal position.

I was hoping he'd slip one more go around. My last pick was between him and Clements, and I figured I needed a corner more. Good pick.

Hardly. Theres a pretty good FB with a head coach named ''chucky''. I'm sure you know who i'm tlking about.

Beasley is quite good, but there are several other FBs who of his caliber. If you want to split hairs, there are several who perform various functions better. What makes Beasley special is that he is pretty good at everything. There are better recieving FBs, better blocking FBs and better running FBs out there.

Plus, not every offense has a FB...

Hes not half the blocker Beasley is. Natural FB, Beasley is the best in the NFL. The "train" I believe you are referring to is more RB than FB. Hes not as good a blocker, but is good for short yardage where Beasley can also get you the 2 or 3 yards needed for a 1st.

Alstott is a HB who lines up occasionally as a FB. WHen you line up behind a lead blocker, you are not a FB.

Exactly. When Dunn was here, he would sometimes be the feature back lining up behind Cook. Hes not a FB, yet has always been listed as that on the pro bowl list which is why hes been to so many pro bowls over the years.

Now that said, Alstott is quite good at what he does. You need 3 yards and a cloud of dust, he is your guy. Not a bad receiver either. Just slow for a RB and not a good enough blocker for a FB. The 'tweener who is best complimenting a guy like Dunn. Or a pounding back in a ball-control offense ala Bettis (old school), Anthony Thomas or Jamal Lewis (though not as good as the latter and better than the former). Though I don't know if he still has the durability for that many carries.
