So Mika Noronen is going to play for HPK now, allegedly... earlier in the season he was said to play for Lukko and then never showed up. Will he actually play on HPK this time? Is Wiikman going to be sent down to J20 or the Mestis?

Also, Pasi Nurminen has left the Pelicans for a Russian club. Any news on what this is about? Who will their goalies be? They already got rid of Helanen. That leaves them with Suomalainen, Toni Rask, and Karri Rämö to battle for the spots. Unless they can pursuade some unsuspecting NHL goalie to play for them.

In HPK, Wiikman will continue as a backup. Puurula moves to Russia.

Nurminen won't play in Russia. He said that he wanted to play there and he thought the contract was a sure thing but something happened and the russian team backed out. He now looks towards Sweden ans Switzerland. Pelicans number one will most likely be Suomalainen and Rämö is a back up.

Wiikman has been splendid this far IMO, and the starter job should be his to lose.

So I'm guessing that Nurminen's contract ran out in Lahti?

Sucks for Noronen to go to a place where he STILL can't get ice time :teach:

Is Helanen back on the Pelicans?

Yep. He has played well his last two games although his team lost both of them. He had 51 saves against Tappara on Tursday (Pelicans lost 2-1) and 42 saves against Ilves on Saturday (Pelicans lost 2-1).

Actually the team should be Ilves Tampere. Tappara needs a goal scorer, not a new goalie. :)

You were right. It was announced just moments ago, Riksman has signed with Ilves.
