Tragedy... that's all that I can say right now. I don't have the words. :cry:

My eyes fell on the keyboard after they popped out of my head seeing that. It's quite shocking when you're reading up on transactions, you see "Jussi Tilikainen (loaned to Switzerland)," followed by "Sergei Zholtok (died)"...

If there is a listing in either Diena or one of the other dailies for where to send sympathy cards, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll just send one to Riga 2000, as I have their address. I am of Latvian descent, so it can be in Latvian if necessary (I speak it well enough, and can read/write it passably though my grammar is likely suspect).

I really am saddened by this, and compassion and sympathies go to the family, as well as his teammates, past and present.

This was terrible news.

Damn. One of my alltime favourites for his great vision. An underrated player for sure.

Also one of the nicest guys in modern hockey I believe, since he was one of the starters for more than 5 different charity events with the Habs, Oilers and the Wild.

Zolie was a very special player and a special guy. I hope this will encourage more Latvian kids to aim for the NHL and keep the dream alive.

Has anyone heard anything from Ozolinsh?? They were best friends and it's so strange that I have not read one comment from Sandis....
