Bring Back Bucky 11-12-2004, 04:46 PM I sure do like polls, they help pass the miserable NHL-less hours away. Anyway, I would like to know your opinions on these controversial NHLers. Do you love to hate 'em. Vote for as many as you like, and don't forget to add some write in candidates.
Evman* 11-12-2004, 04:55 PM All the Americans seem to piss me off, but you left off the two worst, dumb and dumber, Tkachuk and Guerin.
I also hate Bobblehead Comrie.
X-Man 11-12-2004, 05:11 PM how could anybody hate mike ricci? sure his hair seems to piss people off, but overall he's really funny and he's a really good guy.

MrMastodonFarm* 11-12-2004, 06:44 PM I like Mike Comrie, he proved me right all those years I told Oiler fans he was a spoiled little **** head.
salty justice 11-12-2004, 06:47 PM How about Tkachuk, Pronger, and Kariya?
3 biggest babies in the game, IMO.

Besides Kariya, I agree.
Keetz 11-12-2004, 07:51 PM ya have to give Kariya credit for getting back up from that hit from stevens in the cup finals. No crying there. just bright lights.
espo* 11-12-2004, 08:19 PM Chelly's right at the top of the list but i agee with other posters on here that Tzachuk should be on the list. He's just an arrogant s.o.b.It's a shame he gets to lead the quality of life he does, goes to show you life ain't fair.
Evil Homer 11-12-2004, 08:52 PM Sammy Wilson - and all other cheap shot artists.
Frightened Inmate #2 11-12-2004, 09:19 PM In terms of all time players who I don't like they are as follows:
1. Bobby Hull - Really a huge a-hole is all that I can say.
2. Mark Messier - Nothing against the guy really, other than the fact he beat the Canucks, then decided to rob them 4 years later.
3. Claude Lemieux
4. Ulf Samuelsson

this is the exact complete opposite of my experience. Bobby was a true gentlemen, took the time to talk, and was warm both times i have met him.
Brett Hull is the same way. I cannot understand people disliking Brett so much. He says what he thinks and believes and i usually find that he is right on the mark.
Another i don't understand is the JR bashing. For a long time I didn't like him, but the last few years he has proven to be a passionate hockey guy, one i would love to see leading the league or the players. He knows what he is talking about.

MacDaddy TLC* 11-12-2004, 10:52 PM Curious, Why Hasek and Modano?
Agree with everything else.
Modano, for no rhyme or reason, just never could stand the guy.
Hasek for choking out the reporter in Buffalo after pulling up lame on the team, his actions in the inline hockey game (assault), and just being an overall jerk. Now that he is an Ottawa Senator just makes him even worse in my eyes. ;)
BTW, my sig is a Bobby Hull quote. :D
Keetz 11-12-2004, 11:12 PM Oh yeah, I forgot about the Hasek hack. always liked Modano, mostly because I wish I could skate like him. I had season tickets in Minnesota the year they went to the finals, and remember his speed being new to that team.
Bring Back Bucky 11-12-2004, 11:20 PM Well, several hours in, I find it interesting to see my old friend Little Mikey leading the way. Be warned, if you make him cry, he will hold it against you. And if he does, don't blame it on me. I just love that little feller, if he gets mistreated in Phoenix, him and his family is always welcome to bunk up in my barn until they get back on their feet. Don't put pride before a fall, Mikey, you give us a call if you need anything. ;)

Please tone down your hatred of 'Ol Pearly Whites. I'm afraid that his giant poodle (which I believe is either named Anastasia or Priscilla) will hear you, and feel that she is somehow responsible for your anger toward her benevolent owner. She may then refuse to eat her exclusive super healthy and expensive pet food. She may then lose her ability to do fabulous tricks and bottom out by peeing on Mikey's fabulous four inch thick shag carpet. Come on, Hootchie Cootchie, you don't want to be responsible for that kind of disaster, do you????

SwisshockeyAcademy 11-13-2004, 11:33 PM Claude Lemieux. Gutless coward , cost Canada the 98 World Cup.
Roenick- Nobody is in front of a camera more for doing less. Takes any opportunity, even while concussed- to get on TV.
Pat Lafontaine. Treated as a hero in some parts but it says here he was a poison greaseball that begged for second assists and would admonish teammates for not looking for him with the empty net.
Tkachuk/Guerin, spoiled , overpaid, dirty arrogant- infinity. An endless amount can be said about that pair.
Barrasso. An outright ass and lucky he played in the era he did as he would have been waiver wire fodder in today's game.
Mario Lemieux. He cried , sooked , whined and crapped all over the game that made him rich and famous. He then decided he was the great Canadian for the Olympics. Go away please- just go away.
Mike Keenan- Some people ******** their way through and he is one who pulled it off and just keeps on pulling it off. Its like making the probowl. Once you do it you do it forever no matter how much you suck. Still hasn't practised a powerplay since he started in the league.
The 2000 Barrie Colts. One of the most embarassing units of all time. They lacked class and it started at the top.
Bobby Clarke. Continues to give hope to armchair GM's everywhere. We all sit at home and marvel at the fact he keeps his job. He is so far up Snider's rear he has a tent pitched on his stomach wall.
Mario Tremblay. A first time coach with amazing arrogance. He's probably gotten better under Lemaire.
Andy Van Hellemond- I'd love to hear the real story.
I better stop before i really get myself in trouble. May i add Gary Leeman and Al Iafrate. Guys did not want to go on the road when Leeman was hurt.

Haha...this I cannot argue with.
Fortunately, he made a great improvement last season. This lockout worries me, though...he could easily deteriorate and pursue another Oates trade.

In that vein, I believe Tkachuk's drunken antics at Nagano were the biggest reason we didn't get a World Cup in 2000. Why Wilson didn't have that team doing bag skates, I'll never know.
Larry Brooks: Fitting he works for the worst paper in America. You think someone who as wrong as often as he is would get leary of his sources.
Bobby Clarke: You don't have to be Frued to figure out his obsession with big players.
StevenintheATL 11-14-2004, 03:42 PM Tie Domi. You look up goon in the dictionary, his picture will be by it. His whole career is based on fighting and cheap shots.
If there was a poll for biggest crybaby, that vote would go for Eric Lindros, who should have been one of the poll choices. A textbook example on why players shouldn't have their parents be their agent.

Yes, my fault- 96 World Cup. We had a 2-1 lead and Claude was in the corner with plenty of time. He blindly rimmed a puck around the boards which Leetch picked up and fired , Hull tipped it home and the wheels were set in motion for the loss. I remember screaming "no!!!!" when i saw him winding up. Just an awful play.

I used the term "Personalities" as in "Characters" or people associated with hockey. I couldn''t say player since i included Bettman et. al. I don't know what most of these people are like away from the game of hockey, they made it to the poll because I thought they might be considered notorious amongst fans for either on ice actions or silliness away from the game. I read about that gesture- a fine tribute. Guys, this poll was for fun, to see who irritated who. It wasn't a poll to decide whose house to egg and toilet paper or anything. Ricci, with that silly mop of hair, was just someone who popped into my head when I had fifteen slots to fill. I hate Mike Modano's guts, can't stand the sight of him. He may, however volunteer 70 hours a week at a children's burn unit for all I know , so when I say I "hate" him, it's just that I get riled up by my PERSONAL VIEW OF HIM from my perspective as an Oilers fan. I saw Ricci play for the Nordiques in a neutral site game or an exhibition game (can't remember which) and he yapped like a baby poodle so you could hear him all through the rink. Ever since then, as i watched his hair grow, I thought that he looked like a real donkey, and apparently a few others thought so, too. But don't worry, we aren't sending him hate mail or anything.... ;)
