The Misfits or The Dead Kennedys?Grizzly Adams 09-18-2003, 10:14 PM Another poll I've been meaning to post up. Legionnaire 09-18-2003, 11:54 PM Dead Kennedys easily for me. Spiffy 09-19-2003, 12:17 AM What are those? :dunno: VO #23 09-19-2003, 04:10 AM Misfits, but I like some of the Dead Kennedys' stuff. Koltsov71 09-19-2003, 04:31 AM No contest at all. I think you guys know what my answer is by now. Koltsov71 09-19-2003, 04:32 AM What are those? :dunno: They are both bands. One is my favorite band in the universe, and the other is pretty good. Epoch 09-19-2003, 05:03 AM the Dead Kennedys :yo: Tbagger 09-19-2003, 06:01 AM Old or new Misfits? If its the Misfits with Glenn, then I choose them. If it the new I'll go with DK. plaugher 09-19-2003, 06:12 AM It's all about the Dead Kennedys. syc 09-19-2003, 06:57 AM The Misfits had some great tunes but I would have to say The Dead Kennedys overall. Zodiac 09-19-2003, 07:22 AM The Misfits. Ric Flair 09-19-2003, 08:14 AM Misfits for me. David A. Rainer 09-19-2003, 08:15 AM http://www.deadkennedys.com/graphics/banner01/banner01_r3_c2.gif I wonder why Jello isn't running for governor. He did fairly well running for mayor. Bonus points for anyone who knows Jello's real name. RiellyGood 09-19-2003, 08:25 AM http://www.deadkennedys.com/graphics/banner01/banner01_r3_c2.gif I wonder why Jello isn't running for governor. He did fairly well running for mayor. Bonus points for anyone who knows Jello's real name. Jello Biafra's real name isnt Jello. I only know him as Jello, I took Dead Kennedys btw eh 09-19-2003, 08:33 AM No competition here, really. The Misfits do have some good tunes, but overall DK are just so much more versatile. It's a bit like comparing a good (not great) sniper with Jere Lehtinen. Big McLargehuge 09-19-2003, 08:56 AM No competition here at all. They both suck. Legionnaire 09-19-2003, 09:30 AM http://www.deadkennedys.com/graphics/banner01/banner01_r3_c2.gif I wonder why Jello isn't running for governor. He did fairly well running for mayor. Bonus points for anyone who knows Jello's real name. Oo Oo I know I know. Eric Boucher. Legionnaire 09-19-2003, 09:31 AM No competition here at all. They both suck. No you suck Magnus Fulgur 09-19-2003, 09:57 AM What a great poll question! I love 'em both...but I'll always be a DKs kinda guy: the first non pop rock band I ever loved as a kid. Edler Statesman* 09-19-2003, 09:58 AM I pick the misfits Koltsov71 09-19-2003, 10:31 AM No you suck I second that. David A. Rainer 09-19-2003, 10:36 AM Oo Oo I know I know. Eric Boucher. Ding ding ding ding... Ray, tell 'em what he's won... Legionnaire 09-19-2003, 10:49 AM Ding ding ding ding... Ray, tell 'em what he's won... Ooo I hope it's his broken guitar. Patty Ice 09-19-2003, 12:03 PM http://www.deadkennedys.com/graphics/banner01/banner01_r3_c2.gif I wonder why Jello isn't running for governor. He did fairly well running for mayor. Bonus points for anyone who knows Jello's real name. Eric Boucher. Anyways, its easily Misfits (not to take anything away from DK). Simply put, old Misfits constitutes at least 50% of my favortie all-time punk songs. I can understand how DK is winning though if you lump the old misfits with the new. But Danzig-era is unstoppable. Patty Ice 09-19-2003, 12:05 PM Oo Oo I know I know. Eric Boucher. Dammit I thought I had that one in the bag...you SCOUNDREL!!! David A. Rainer 09-19-2003, 12:15 PM Ooo I hope it's his broken guitar. Duh... I said it was bonus points. :D DJ Spinoza 09-19-2003, 12:33 PM Green Day:p I chose Misfits. I like their old stuff from what I heard. Although it is a toss up. DJ Spinoza 09-19-2003, 12:37 PM Jello Biafra's real name is Eric Boucher by the way. What do I win? Legionnaire 09-19-2003, 12:40 PM Duh... I said it was bonus points. :D Ray's guitar broke . We'll play rawhide we'll play anything. David A. Rainer 09-19-2003, 12:55 PM Ray's guitar broke . We'll play rawhide we'll play anything. Even the theme to the Dinah Shore Show. Who's alter ego is Dinah Shore? David A. Rainer 09-19-2003, 12:55 PM Jello Biafra's real name is Eric Boucher by the way. What do I win? Too late... Legionaire already won the bonus points. Big McLargehuge 09-19-2003, 02:13 PM Green Day Now there's a band. All this new "music" makes me want to shoot my groin and impale my head upon a sharp stick. Nalyd Psycho 09-19-2003, 02:18 PM Now there's a band. All this new "music" makes me want to shoot my groin and impale my head upon a sharp stick. Dead Kennedys and The Misfits are "new" what are, 80? I voted Dead Kennedys. For my money, Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables is the best punk album ever. Koltsov71 09-19-2003, 02:50 PM All this new "music" makes me want to shoot my groin and impale my head upon a sharp stick. New music? The Misfits go all the way back to 1977. Big McLargehuge 09-19-2003, 03:17 PM really? I never heard of them until like 2 years ago. Dead Kennedys I've heard of though. Regardless I hate that genre and my statement stands that I despise all "new" music...even if these two aren't parts of it. Flyers26 09-19-2003, 03:32 PM Dead Kennedy's kick serious @SS! I saw them back in '84, at City Gardens, in Trenton,NJ. Awesome band, with great lyrics! They have a couple dvd's out... by all means, pick them up! I have to travel to Boston next week, and, thanks to this thread, I must put in a DK's cd, for the trip!! from POLICE TRUCK: "pull down your dress, here's a kick in the @ss We'll beat you blue, til ya ***** your pants Don't move child, gotta big black stick There's six of us babe, so suck on my d!ck Let's ride how we ride, let's ride looo--oow ride" Porn* 09-19-2003, 03:38 PM Misfits no doubt... Grizzly Adams 09-19-2003, 03:47 PM This thread is dedicated to proving to Patty Ice XXX that the Dead Kennedys were greater than the Misfits. David A. Rainer 09-19-2003, 03:54 PM I voted Dead Kennedys. For my money, Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables is the best punk album ever. I second that. FFFRV was the first DK album I ever bought - age 12 at the local music store down the street. My dad eventually found it and took it away from me for corrupting my mind. But the damage had already been done. I guess he never understood "Kill the Poor". Koltsov71 09-19-2003, 03:55 PM This thread is dedicated to proving to Patty Ice XXX that the Dead Kennedys were greater than the Misfits. Hell no! To counter the DK lyrics posted above, excerpts from one of my favorite Misfits tunes: Skulls The corpses all hang headless and limp Bodies with no surprises And the blood drains down like devils-rain We'll bathe tonight .... Demon I am and face I peel To see your skin turned inside out, 'cause Gotta have you on my wall Gotta have you on my wall, 'cause .... Collect the heads of little girls and Put 'em on my wall Hack the heads off little girls and Put 'em on my wall I want your skulls I need your skulls I want your skulls I need your skulls Patty Ice 09-19-2003, 04:23 PM This thread is dedicated to proving to Patty Ice XXX that the Dead Kennedys were greater than the Misfits. NEIN!!! Any band that busts out with tunes like "Last Caress" and "American Nightmare" is the greatest ever. Big McLargehuge 09-19-2003, 04:42 PM Hell no! To counter the DK lyrics posted above, excerpts from one of my favorite Misfits tunes: Skulls The corpses all hang headless and limp Bodies with no surprises And the blood drains down like devils-rain We'll bathe tonight .... Collect the heads of little girls and Put 'em on my wall Hack the heads off little girls and Put 'em on my wall I want your skulls I need your skulls I want your skulls I need your skulls That sounds like a winner  ;) darth5 09-19-2003, 05:37 PM One of my fav college-days albums was Plastic Surgery Disasters by the DKs. :joker: hardcore_fan 09-19-2003, 06:12 PM Voted DK's on this one, Pull My Strings is the best rock song about rock ever written. DJ Spinoza 09-19-2003, 06:14 PM For what it's worth, I never got into either of them...Well, that may be misleading...I am 'only' 16, so I never discovered them and liked them too much...I am more partial to the Millencolin et al side of punk music... Although I do enjoy the Descendants.:yo: | ||
