Pictures of Hurrican Isabel

Not something you want to be confronted by but still fascinating to see here.

Thankfully ... its now "Tropical Storm Isabel"

Someone last night sent me a picture that was *supposedly* taken from a ship near Isabel a few days ago. The problem is,

1. The clouds surrounding a hurricane do *not* look like what's seen in the photo (unless maybe you're near the eye...in which case you wouldn't see this b/c of the blinding rain and high winds)
2. A hurricane will generate high seas b/c of the wind and energy associated with it - the seas are perfectly calm in the photo, whereas North Carolina and Virginia beaches were battered 2-3 days before Isabel hit.

If I can get the stupid computer to cooperate I'll post the pic. I contacted snopes.com about it - they haven't said anything yet but I'm 99.99% sure it's a fake.

Decided to bump the thread in the lounge that has gone the longest without having had a reply. I guess this is the record for length of time between replies in the lounge.

I don't know about that but I was wondering who highjacked my account because I saw my name but forgot I posted this. :joker:
