Someone last night sent me a picture that was *supposedly* taken from a ship near Isabel a few days ago. The problem is,
1. The clouds surrounding a hurricane do *not* look like what's seen in the photo (unless maybe you're near the eye...in which case you wouldn't see this b/c of the blinding rain and high winds)
2. A hurricane will generate high seas b/c of the wind and energy associated with it - the seas are perfectly calm in the photo, whereas North Carolina and Virginia beaches were battered 2-3 days before Isabel hit.
If I can get the stupid computer to cooperate I'll post the pic. I contacted snopes.com about it - they haven't said anything yet but I'm 99.99% sure it's a fake.
