Hahah. That might not be saying too much. Saying his site is better than Sabres.com is like saying that he could take Tim Connolly in a fight.

I could whip up a better site for the Sabres in 10 minutes. That thing is borderline disgusting. I like Laraque's site, though I'm not usually a big fan of all-flash sites. Laraque would bring us grit, toughness, and... web style and sensibility!

My 12 year old neice could put up a better site than sabres.com

I'd love to see the Sabres land Laraque and it would sell a ton of tickets. Sabres fans have been pining for a heavyweight enforcer since Larry Playfair left.

The Avs gave up Eric Messier and a blue chip prospect in Vaclav Nedorost for Peter Worrell and a second-round draft choice in 2004. Laraque's a better all around player than Worrell. Salary's a big concern for both teams as well.

The Oilers may be parting ways with Mike Comrie. I'm not interested in him coming to the Sabres as we have enough small centers. But the Oilers could be interested in a replacement for Comrie. Tim Connolly could be a fit there or maybe they'd be interested in Curtis Brown. Jason Smith ($2.3 mil) may be too expensive for the Oilers. Jay McKee would be a cheaper alternative. Smith's a rock on the right side. He's big and physical, and would be an ideal partner for one of our yound dmen. He turns 30 in November.

The basics of a deal could be:
Connolly+ McKee for Laraque + Smith

I think everyone in Buffalo would simultaneously soil their underoos if this deal ever went down. We would be an immensly tougher, more solid team. I suppose the value is in the same ballpark, and the Oilers would be dropping some salary (though how does Connolly's salary compare to Laraque's?). I'd be all over this trade like stink on a Frenchman.

Connolly makes a bit less than Laraque as well as making much less than Comrie seems to be asking for...

Looks like it'd work for both sides then, but I don't know how willing Edmonton would be to part with their fan favorite?

That'd be the deal of a lifetime from a toughness standpoint. I think it would also make the blueline stronger and give some of the smaller guys on this team a bigger back bone.

That's the kind of deal I would jump on in an instant.

Feel free to find out on the Trade Rumors Board.

That site looks horrid on 1600x1200 res, though. The site fills about 1/6 of my screen, heh.

The only thing is that Georges Laroque loves Edmonton and he has said in the past that he would retire if traded. Could be alot of talk but who knows.
