You must choose the "Windows Media: Cliquez ici" link under AUDIO-VIDEO.
Good game everyone.
canucksfan 09-19-2003, 02:35 PM I'm listening to it but the only problem is it's in French.
Canadian 09-19-2003, 02:48 PM Sweet, this is wicked, the fact that I can watch a Rimouski Oceanic game on the internet. The only problem is that the windows media player screen is incredibly small and I can't zoom.
canucksfan 09-19-2003, 02:55 PM I would like to watch it but it doesn't seem to work.
rick25 09-19-2003, 02:57 PM I would like to watch it but it doesn't seem to work.
You must have the last version of Windows Media.

yep
Canal Vox is currently broadcasting the Rimouski-Moncton game in Quebec. For those who wanna see Sidney Crosby...
The first period had just finished, so here my impressions on him:
Really really slow start for Crosby, maybe he was a little nervous about his first game in Rimouski. He seem lazy, not trying to get the puck, bad positionning... The only thing he excels was on back-check... I think he touch the puck twice in 15 minutes... And then, he scored a garbage goal on Powerplay, nothing special. After he seem to be more confident, great speed, got a breakway, great passer.
LaLaLaprise 09-19-2003, 04:55 PM Did anyone just see that nifty behind the back pass Sid did to set up jasmin-reil for the hatrick?
Habsolution 09-19-2003, 04:57 PM Yeah it was awesome !
So 2 pts so far for Crosby. That line seems to create something everytime they are on the ice.
(only been watching since the beginning of the 3rd)
Histrion 09-19-2003, 04:59 PM Yeah, a really nice assist.
For those who aren't watching, Sidney's got 1 goal and 2 assists so far.
JordanStaal#1Fan 09-19-2003, 04:59 PM He is just awesome! 3 points tonight, 1 goal and 2 assists. We a magnificient pass on Jasmel-Riel's 3rd goal of the night!
IkeaMonkey* 09-19-2003, 05:08 PM Nice find, thanks.
Habsolution 09-19-2003, 05:27 PM Time for Crosby to pull out a heroic feat once again
Histrion 09-19-2003, 05:32 PM With some seconds remaining, Crosby make a nice pass to it's teammate in the slot, he shoot, he scores! We'll go to overtime!
1 goal, 3 assists for Crosby so far!
RIMOUSKI SCORES!!!!
What a pass by Crosby
Habsolution 09-19-2003, 05:34 PM What a bust ! Only 4 goals 3 assists in 3 games ...
Histrion 09-19-2003, 05:34 PM This kid's got some skills, The hype is huge, but it sure didn't came out of no where... I mean... he's great so far.
Histrion 09-19-2003, 05:35 PM Crosby Just Score! Oh My God!
Oh My God!
I Can't Believe It!
At 9 Second Of The Ot, Crosby Scores!
Oh Man!!!
Jeffrey 09-19-2003, 05:36 PM crosby compte ! :D
Habsolution 09-19-2003, 05:36 PM Make that 5 goals ... and 2 GW ! Unbelivable
AJ1982 09-19-2003, 05:39 PM Are we allowed to be excited yet?
I was annoyed with all that Crosby's hype, but after seeing him play tonight, THIS GUY HAS IT! MOST IMPRESSIVE JUNIOR PLAYER I'VE SEEN, AND HE HAVE JUST TURN 16... Man, the OT goal was fantastic, a heck of backhand shot, 9seconds, UMBELIVEBABLE. You can now make all Crosby treath you want, this guy deserves it.
Habsolution 09-19-2003, 05:40 PM Are we allowed to be excited yet?
I sure am ! This kid is very clutch so far ...
LaLaLaprise 09-19-2003, 05:41 PM OH MY GOD!!
I'll quote Peter Lubardious, "This just in......hes good."
Johnny 09-19-2003, 05:42 PM Pretty good game. Thanks for the link Rick. I've been going through some hockey withdrawals, I sure needed that. As for Crosby, what more can you say, impressive.
JordanStaal#1Fan 09-19-2003, 05:46 PM The Rimouski franchise is very very lucky to have Crosby like they were lucky to have Richards and Lecavalier. This team is the better franchise for a youngster to develop, just look at Caron that game out of no where to make this team (he was a back in Batam AA, he was playing in my cousin team) and now, he's an NHLer. Richards and Lecavalier are both stars, I trully hope that Sydney can follow the path drawed by those Oceanic's great.
rick25 09-19-2003, 06:00 PM Pretty good game. Thanks for the link Rick. I've been going through some hockey withdrawals, I sure needed that. As for Crosby, what more can you say, impressive.
No problem. Tomorrow game is also video broadcast. 16 h east time. Same link.
canucksfan 09-19-2003, 06:41 PM I couldn't watch all of it but when I turned it off Crosby turned it on. 8 points in 3 games WOW.
Bruno8 09-19-2003, 07:05 PM Are we allowed to be excited yet?
Holy *****!!
gibber1600 09-19-2003, 09:27 PM Holy *****!!
This kid IS the real deal!!!!
franchise player 09-19-2003, 09:35 PM I was sure thinking that the guy is good. But after tonights game. Damn! He's unreal. I just hope he won't end up in a non-hockey town. I hope he'll go somewhere hockey is huge, I think it would be a sacrilege for a such player to play in a town like Phoenix (once in the nhl of course).

Players like Crosby can turn a town into a hockey town.

well, not always. As a habs fan, I can tell you we deserve a player like him. We've been waiting for too long now.
gb701 09-20-2003, 06:07 AM well, not always. As a habs fan, I can tell you we deserve a player like him. We've been waiting for too long now.
the Habs are going to have to play even worse than in recent years for you to have a shot at him - if he does not go first, I have no idea who would beat him.
take it any way you want...the hype is proving out. the kid has "it", whatever that is. I am looking forward to watching him enter the pros in a couple/few years.
#37-#93-#27* 09-20-2003, 09:08 AM well, not always. As a habs fan, I can tell you we deserve a player like him. We've been waiting for too long now.
Lets think for a second here
Other then the Oilers, Pens and to some extent the Kings, Thrashers and even your Habs, we've all been waiting for a kid like this
guess winning all those cups, having the likes of Guy Lafluer, Patrick Roy and Maurice Richard just isn't enough for some people
gbl1p 09-20-2003, 09:15 AM I am interested in viewing the game starting in less than 2 hours. I keep trying the link, but I can't seem to find any link that would take me to a streaming video file of the game. Is one supposed to appear shortly before the game? I also can't derive the french connotations used, so this could be partly to blame.

well 2 hours before the game even starts, I don't see why they would be broadcasting an empty rink
try it at game time, it should work

They would show other coverage. Its not a link to just the game. Im pretty sure its like one of those crappy cable channels where anyone can make a show.
theo6060 09-20-2003, 10:38 AM Can we see all Rimouski games on this channel? I'd love to be able to watch Crosby play! When's the next one?
G-Double 09-20-2003, 10:52 AM not to be a schmuck but i only get the audio...any suggestions?

I too am having problems. As I suspected, I can't get anything on the page that was linked in the beginning of this thread. This is what I get:
OCEANIC.QC.CA
Webdiffusion en direct sur Internet.
PQM.net - Webdiffuseur officiel du Club de Hockey l'Océanic.
--------------------------
Aucune webdiffusion actuellement...
Horaire des webdiffusions: surveillez le calendrier des matches.

I gather that there is nothing playing right now?
G-Double 09-20-2003, 11:05 AM if you have the "right" software then it should load when you open the page, but once it loads it is only sound as far as i can tell...
IkeaMonkey* 09-20-2003, 11:07 AM No, It is working....there is a pregame ceremony on now...
G-Double 09-20-2003, 11:09 AM video as well as audio? what version of the game are you using? realplayer or WMP?
Are you guys clicking on the right link? Theres some for audio.. and then theres one for video.
Pretty good quality stuff for a streaming video too.
Disco Volante 09-20-2003, 11:11 AM was working for me until an old folk gave a kiss to the wife of Sirois in the pregame ceremony... it freezed and now it's dead.
edit : it's back... Sirois's speech
Yea... mine just died
edit: working again :)
IkeaMonkey* 09-20-2003, 11:12 AM I believe its WMP, but it doesnt open WMP. It uses the browser.
and yes, like PH, mine died too.
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 11:15 AM Come on guy, stop talkin...we wants some hockey!!!
G-Double 09-20-2003, 11:18 AM thanks guys, i'm an idiot
gbl1p 09-20-2003, 11:19 AM Well, isn't this just dandy. I have both required versions of realplayer and windows media player, but I get absolutely no indication that there are any games I can watch, or any links for that matter. Any thoughts? Once again, this is what I get:
"Aucune webdiffusion actuellement...
Horaire des webdiffusions: surveillez le calendrier des matches."
edit: Could someone post an updated link?

Draft Guru 09-20-2003, 11:31 AM This is insane!! Wow!!!
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 11:41 AM Nice goal by Tampa prospect Hrdel.
Jacob 09-20-2003, 11:43 AM Crosby looks a bit small. He's quick, though.
Disco Volante 09-20-2003, 11:45 AM Lavallee seems a lot more in this game than in yesterday's one - he really sucked, particularly when playing the puck.
Hrdel's breakaway was ok, sure more convincing than Stewart's one... :)
edit : I type this and Lavallee calls the "soigneur"... :(
o-dog 09-20-2003, 11:47 AM For those of you who want full screen in WMP, open media player and then go to open url and paste in this link:

Enjoy....
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 11:49 AM Since youre watching the game here are players on each team to keep an eye on:
Gatineau:
F - Talbot - #25 - Pittsburgh
G - Tremblay - #31 - Philly
D - Obrien - #6 - Tampa
F - Wathier - #8 - Dallas
Rimouski:
F - Stewart - #8 - Montreal
F - Roussin - #15 - Florida

Lavs played great fro us (Halifax) last year, but rebuilding, we dont need a great 20 year old goalie.

My personal favorite is Jasmin-Riel, the one they interview right now! He was my favorite on the Rocket, and I can't help but liking him more than Crosby (not saying that he's better, I ain't masochist)

Lala, if Fleury returns to Cape Breton, do you think they will have webcasts like this??

Yeah he went undrafted last year. He would have been a nice late round pick. Oh well.
Also #55 on Gatineau, Petr Pohl is a nice looking 17 year old Czech. Should go high in 2004.

Last year, Eastlink (local TV here in NS) did a lot of CB games. If he is returned and they will be webcasting them i will for sure post it on the Pitt page of HF.
DJ Spinoza 09-20-2003, 11:56 AM Thanks.:)

I thought he wasn't available until next year... Hmmm, thanx for the info.
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 11:57 AM Thanks.:)
No worries. Oh by the way Dixon got 2 helpers last night for CB.
Talbot had an alright 1st, he won 5 of 7 faceoffs, had 2 shots and both were considered scoring chances.

His age would have made him eligible. Not sure if he opted out or not. He had a good 2nd half with Rimouski.

He's listed at 6'02 on the Oceanic website, I wouldn't be surprise if you were right tho, he's a monster.

Had a nice chance at the other end before the goal...cut inside but couldnt put it in.

Talbot is an amazing player. I think he may be underrated in NHL circles. He has a very very good shot at Team Canada considering he can play an role and win faceoffs.

But yes, I re-opened the link and its ok.
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 12:22 PM Gatineau has a really godo PK. Lots of small speedy guys, and they pressure the puck well. Rimouski cant really set up.

And yes ALL Rimouski home games are on the net.

Its a completly legal move, just a bit greasy. Works good on the PK. He is a very smart goalie. He is also pretty good with the puck when he wants to be. Hes the Brodeaur of the Q that way, in my opinion.
StevieYdabest 09-20-2003, 12:49 PM I still don't like the fact that it's now the Gatineau Olympiques. I know they had too but Hull sounded better IMO. 1-1 after 2. Pretty good game.
sundinfan13 09-20-2003, 12:49 PM So the next webcast is October 3rd?

Agreed. And their new uniforms arent that great. Their old ones were ncie because they were simple. The new ones have way too many colors. And they have an LA Kings thing going.
Chicoutimi might need to change their name to Saguaney. Saguaney Saguenees. It has a ring to it LOL.

They didnt move but the actual city changed their name. Last year. But they kept the name Hull for a year. Gatineau is the name for the region now. So they had to change since the place Hull doesnt exist.

Oh...didnt hear about that either. I figured after losing in the Memorial Cup that a team would be pretty secure for atleast a couple of seasons.
...anyone else's not working anymore?

Mines down as well.
Sad thing about Gatineau is the owners are threatening to move the team because they arent happy with the fan support. Only 800 season passes. The League avg for the Q is aroudn 1500 for season passes. And Gatineau always has good teams.
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 01:05 PM Back now.
StevieYdabest 09-20-2003, 01:08 PM 2 quick goals to make it 3-1 Gatineau. Great Play by the Gatineau forward on the breakaway.
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 01:08 PM Gatineau starting trying lol
Dupuis, columbus 4th rounder 2003, just scored. 3-1.
Histrion 09-20-2003, 01:08 PM Gatineau with back to back goals.
3-1 Olympiques, now.
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 01:09 PM 2 quick goals to make it 3-1. Great Play by the Hull forward (Stewart?) on the breakaway.
Phillipe Dupuis.
StevieYdabest 09-20-2003, 01:10 PM Thanks i heard stewart for some reason lol.
Histrion 09-20-2003, 01:14 PM Pathetic 3rd period for the Oceanic so far..
StevieYdabest 09-20-2003, 01:16 PM 4-1 Gatineau :handclap:. They are really starting to dominate the game. Ok now they have a big lead lets go Crosby go get some goals :D .
Histrion 09-20-2003, 01:20 PM Crosby made two nice passes to his teammates, but both couldn't finish the play.
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 01:21 PM Well Rimouski is really young on defense.
Columbe - #5 - 18
Lauze - #7 - 20
Bolduc - #25 - 16
Tremblay - #16 - 17
Veilleux - #54 - 17
Their euro dman Sersen isnt dressed. Notr sure why.
StevieYdabest 09-20-2003, 01:22 PM Crosby made two nice passes to his teammates, but both couldn't finish the play.
Yeah his teammates are pretty bad i think crosby is trying to be too nice, if they can't finish then it's time to do it for yourself. He should have like 3 assists by now if he had some decent linemates.
Histrion 09-20-2003, 01:26 PM "Que vous soyez au colisée, ou devant votre télé, l'action sera au rendez-vous", this publicity's pissing me off. The guy looks like such a jerk out there. :joker:

It's my uncle...
Histrion 09-20-2003, 01:27 PM Crap! Peter Pohl scored, 5-1 Olympiques. What a domination.
StevieYdabest 09-20-2003, 01:27 PM Isn't Gatineau one of the best teams in the Q. I know they went to the mem cup last year and i don't think they lost many players. And it's now 5-1 Pohl i think. I think gatineau will make it this year to the mem cup as well they look real good.
Canadian 09-20-2003, 01:27 PM The Rimouski Oceanic are getting murdered by the Gatineau Olympiques, 5-1. I must say that fifth goal was a beauty though.
Histrion 09-20-2003, 01:28 PM It's my uncle...
You must be very young since it's an Oceanic player that I'm talking about.
StevieYdabest 09-20-2003, 01:29 PM could've been 6-1 if it wasn't for that nice save with the gatineau guy in the slot.

Well, i was trying to do a joke.. i guess its not my day!
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 01:30 PM Cape Breton is still the better team as far as im concerned. They are 8 deep on D, and they have MA Fleury. Pklus their back-up goalie Houle is top 10 in the league, just in case MAF stays in PITT they still have a good goalie.
They are 7 deep as far as scoring forwards.
Gatineau probably has better chemistry early on because their whole team came back pretty much.
StevieYdabest 09-20-2003, 01:31 PM Arsenault with a goal to make it 5-2. Crosby with an assist.
Histrion 09-20-2003, 01:32 PM Well, i was trying to do a joke.. i guess its not my day!
That's what I tought at first, but I just wanted to be sure since I'm very unlucky, everytime I'm laughing about somebody, it appears that this person is there and I'm not seeing it.

Hehe... just like a Chick'n swell sketch..
Histrion 09-20-2003, 01:34 PM Another goal for Peter Pohl, 6-2... damn... ugly game.

Oh ya that's right Fluery's on C.B yeah i guess they seemed to be the team to beat. I think Pohl just scored again. 6-2 Gatineau

Hum... yeah... actually Daniel of the Chick'n Swell is my second degree's second, I guess it's genetic. :joker:
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 01:36 PM Pohl is a really good player. Should be a high NHL pick.

Is he 16 ?
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 01:38 PM Talbot with a monster game.
1+3, +2, 7 shots, 6 scoring chances, 66% on faceoffs.
LaLaLaprise 09-20-2003, 01:39 PM Is he 16 ?
He is 17. He played with Rostislav Olesz last year in the Czech Republick. Olesz should be a top 5 pick. Pohl is a sure 1st rounder in my books.
Histrion 09-20-2003, 01:39 PM Jasmin-Riel scored from a sharp angle.
Hossa 09-20-2003, 01:51 PM A few post-game thoughts:
1) Crosby was impressive, but not his best showing. He's not big, but he will grow. He is very fast, speedy and uses his speed to go to the outside. What impressed me though, is that he has a low center of gravity, and can lean on defenders. He can take over a shift, but I expected better to be honest. obviously, not his best game.
2) Jasmin-Riel really caught my eye. The guy reminds me a bit of Ramzi Abid. He is big, very big, and uses his size well. He's strong along the boards, and has a good shot. He doesn't have great straight-away speed, but he isn't a plodding skater by any means. Defenitely should get drafted this coming season.
3) Talbot and Daoust were buzzing all night, as I knew they would. Its too bad Daoust isn't about 4 inches taller (who couldn't use that extra height), because he's got skills, speed and is fearleess. They work well together too.
4) Pohl was maybe the most impressive player. Gets his shot off very quick, a good skater, not the biggest guy though. His style reminds me a lot of Marian Gaborik. He's not in that level, don't be confused, but style wise, the way he scores his goals, similar.
5) Doug O'Brien was the best defenceman on the ice, and is a very under-rated prospect. He's a rock defensively who has a hard shot and can make a good outlet pass. Nothing I didn't see from him last year though.
Gatineau was the better team. Deeper team.
