Can Mario Scalzo be the next M-A Bergeron ?

Both went undrafted, specially because of their size. But both can put great numbers at the defense position as offensive minded hockey player in the Q.

Bergeron signed a contract as a free agent with the Oilers organization and is now part of their defense, maybe not as a regular defenseman but he is.

Can Scalzo do the same ? Can he brings this level of play in the AHL ?

see James Sanford. I think they'll be in the same boat. toggle between AHL and ECHL - moreso in the latter, at least for the first couple of seasons; though both have the potential to be regulars in the AHL eventually in my opinion

Much like Danny Groulx

Bergeron brought a physical dimension to the game as well.

Scalzo is your prototypical offensive defenseman, (only) decent in the back end, and too small.

Probably a good fit for ECHL duty, and maybe a few stints in the AHL. Walser, perhaps?
