I'm trying to re-create them in ESPN Hockey 2004. Could someone post the line combinations and d-pairings. Thanks for the help.

I believe Brianscot has it down pretty good. At least that's the way I remember the pairings, although Swoop Carleton fitted in somewhere, may have been '70 - '71.

As a side note, its unfortunate that #8 worn for so many years by Ken Hodge, who helped win two Stanley Cups, is going to the rafters with only one sweater. Check out the stats on both #8's. Granted, Cam played about 1 1/2 years less, but the figures are almost equal factoring in lost time.

That's a nice look for Sanderson! :D

I'm working on the 72 team in ESPN hockey using brianscot's line-up. Once i'm done i'll post it here.

edit: Anyone know what number Carol Vadnais wore?

Vadnais wore number 10. Any other numbers, because I have them all.

Okay thanks to brianscot , mattkaz, Gee Wally and google.com. I have finished the 72 Bruins Roster. In ESPN Hockey they first have there names as 1LeftWing, 2LeftWing, etc.. Use that to match up with the info i have listed.

1LeftWing(91) Jonny Bucyk #9, 37yrs, 6'0", 216, Lefty, Canada
2LeftWing(89) Wayne Cashman #12, 27yrs, 6'1", 180, Righty, Canada
3LeftWing(75) Don Marcotte #21, 25yrs, 5'11", 185, Lefty, Canada
4LeftWing(75) Ace Bailey #14, 24yrs, 5'11", 180, Lefty, Canada
1RightWing(84) John McKenzie #19, 35, 5'9", 171, Righty, Canada
2RightWing(89) Ken Hodge #8, 28yrs, 6'2", 216, Righty, England
3RightWing(84) Ed Westfall #18, 32yrs, 6'1", 198, Righty, Canada
4RightWing(82) Reggie Leach #27,22yrs, 6'0", 180, Righty, Canada
1Center(96) Phil Esposito #7, 30yrs, 6'1", 207, Lefty, Canada
2Center(89) Derek Sanderson #16, 26yrs, 6'2", 198, Lefty, Canada
3Center(81) Fred Stanfield #17, 28yrs, 5'10", 178, Lefty, Canada
4Center(79) Mike Walton #11, 27yrs, 5'10", 176, Lefty, Canada
1Defenseman(99) Bobby Orr #4, 24yrs, 6'0", 200, Lefty, Canada
2Defenseman(87) Dallas Smith #20, 31yrs, 5'11", 176, Lefty, Canada
3Defenseman(81) Carol Vadnais #10, 27yrs, 6'1", 190, Lefty, Canada
4Defenseman(82) Don Awrey #26, 29yrs, 6'0", 176, Lefty, Canada
5Defenesman(80) Ted Green #6, 32yrs, 5'11", 185, Righty, Canada
6Defenseman(78) Rick Smith #23, 24yrs, 5'11", 200, Lefty, Canada
1Goalie(88) Gerry Cheevers #30, 32yrs, 5'll, 180, Lefty, Canada
2Goalie(84) Ed Johnston #1, 36yrs, 6'0", 191, Lefty, Canada

Then use Brianscot's line chart to get the right line combinations.

Damn, that was a good looking home uniform.

They really should revert back to it.

Mike Ricci could even walk the catwalk in that one.

To the eternal question. Who would win between the 72 Bruins and 84 Oilers. The answer. The 72 Bruins. 6 to 0. Cheevers was player of the game with 45 saves. Inluding two breakaway stops on Gretzky. Green, Sanderson, Cashman, Bucyk, Esposito, and Mckenzie scored. Bobby Orr added 2 assists.

Hey sammy87, thanks for the full team. Do you think you can tell me the Oiler team too? If you have the time. And which puck are they? I remember reading that they're the second mystery puck.

I have only done the easy ones on the Oilers. Here is a link from a ESPN Hockey forum to a bunch of historical teams. http://wewantthecup.4t.com/NHL2K4/Historicrosters2k4.html

Also found this thread on the Oiler forum. http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=12846. I sure if your looking for any historical team. Check that teams forum they probably already have a thread on it.

1971-72

30-Cheevers
1-Johnston

4-Orr 20-Smith
10-Vadnais 26-Awrey
6-Green

8-Hodge 7-Esposito 12-Cashman
19-McKenzie 17- Stanfield 9-Bucyk
18-Westfall 16-Sanderson 11-Walton (21-Marcotte)
14-Bailey

Rick Smith, Bob Stewart and Ivan Boldirev ? was traded to
California for Carol Vadnais. They never played on the same Bruins team.
When RickSmith returned to Boston Carol Vadnais and Phil Esposito had been already been traded to NY Rangers for Brad Park, Jean Ratelle and D Joe Zanussi.

I May be wrong about Boldirev but I think that was the deal. The Bruins then recieved some future considerations from that deal and that player was Richie Leduc, a center who looked like Derek and played for the Braves in AHL also a few Bruins games before going to WHA.

Great Memories, what a time
Take care

71-72 also was the season that some guy named  Terry O'Reilly  played 1 game for the Bruins and he scored a goal if my memory still serves me right.
