Nominate a Moderator

It's been brought to my attention that the Sharks board doesn't have a moderator. I never noticed because there's never been any complaints or problems from here :)

Please nominate some posters from your group that you think would do a good job, and we'll hold an election.

I'll nominate Kevin or Mage, although they may not accept it.

I don't think we really need a moderator. This board runs very smoothly as is with the only real problem being the ribbing on X-Sharkie (all in good fun). You know the old sayin..."if it aint broke, dont fix it."

I would like to Nominate my self for the position. I'm very respected by all viewers on this forum. I think i'm perfect for this.

I agree. I don't think there are any real problems here. But, if a mod has to be chosen, I agree with ModestoFan on the nominations of Kevin and Mage.

You don't HAVE to have a moderator. I will put "none" as one of the poll choices.

My first nomination goes to no mod. I completely agree with Patty in that there has never been an issue where a moderator is needed. Just because the other boards have at least one mod doesn't mean that we need a puppet mod to follow the standard, right? I've always liked, and been proud of being a part of, this Sharks board because there is no authority figure and one who "polices" around.

My second nomination goes to me. :D

My list would have to include Mage23 and Spacelobster. About those who'd prefer none: He doesn't have to be active as long as nothing happens. I'm sure that the right moderator would only make himself noticed IF there's gonna be a situation when he has to. And during the season, the likelihood of trolls coming along will increase (it seems like the Sharks board will be more active than last season), and then we might be happy to have a moderator.

I think w can do with out until there is a problem - then I agree
with Kevin in his nominations. We we really need is more traffic on the Sharks board - we're a couple of weeks away from the start
of the season, training camp is underway, roster spots are
being fought for...

Just remember guys, with a mod you can now have threads easily stickied, and if conflict ever arises easily taken care of.

On the Avs board we rarely have problems, but when we do it's a lot swifter to have myself or Belgian Fan easily delete or lock the threads and/or PM the user with a warning of a global ban.

Anyways, just poking my head where it doesn't belong ... hehe, also with a mod you guys could control my trolling :p

I wonder if this thread alone may be showing qualities of the needs for a moderator. As a Sharks board, we sometimes end up with topics that I personally feel do not really relate to the Sharks and bandwidth costs money...

Like when we end up with threads about music cd's. Wrong forum.

My rival claims he should be moderator based on his 1,500+ posts. But I ask you how many of those posts are quality? Very seldom will you find posts where he doesn't divulge in his sick and twisted fascination with crustaceans. As a matter of fact, my opponent was charged with solicitation of an undercover lobster not to long ago.
