Hey, I now have a WIFI router, and I can't seem to get a good downloading speed with any P2P program. I can't get more than 25k/s while I should get more than 100k/s.
I have forwarded my ports to the router, but the problem remains.
Can anyone be kind enough to help me?

did this work before the Wireless router at better speeds?
also before were you using a PCI NIC instead of wireless?

I've moved.
Before I was living in another place with a 512k connection, and I had speeds of around 15k/s.
It's my first time with both a wifi and router.
Just as I speak, I have a 80k/s connection with Azureus.
Maybe I was wrong.:dunno:

I guess you just had a bad connection to the other clients of the p2p-users.

yes, but the same file can give me a 8k/s or an 80k/s in a matter five minutes.
It's just really weird.
And my connection is lost regularly, although my wifi connection seems to be working (I have to reboot the modem).
What are the best settings for Azureus?

I use the default options and get good results. The only thing I keep changing is the number of download allowed as I read somewhere that a too many unused ones tend to decrase overall download performance.
Azureus is bit tricky with it's download speeds. With some trackers it the speed always rises and falls, mostly because there are a lot of leechers and not many seeders as your client constantly connects to different users to get the data party that are still missing in your download. Don't worry about it, the overall download persormance with this program ist still one of the best around (as long as the seeder to leecher ratio is at least near 0.7 or so).
The modem disconnections are another problem though.

OK thanks!

Also, you might have a firewall on your router. Enabling the port required by your p2p program might make it go faster.

I got rid of the firewall and I did forward my port to the router.

Most p2p programs have restricted download speeds because of routing, which forces passive usage of the p2p program, unless you manually set the router to send out an ip that works for active usage.
