The second game for team Japan was very encouraging. They played with more poise, more purpose and more jump and they were rewarded with tons of more scoring chances and time of possesion. The score of this game did not to justice to how close this game really was. For the Japanese it was a compeltly winnable game that they will look back and think they deserved better.
The Danes were noticably slower then the Swiss which the small quick Japanese forwards took advantage of. The Japanses skated unmolested through the neutral zone throughout the game, where the Swiss closed things down for them the Danes let them gain their blue line with possession of the puck all night long. The Japanese also did alot better working on the boards down low, they dug out the puck a couple of times for a couple of good scoring chances from the slot. The Japanese also looked to shoot the puck a lot more as well, they probably doubled there shots on goal from the Swiss game. They also hit the post/crossbar three times on the night.
Although the Japanese played much better they were still second best on the night as they for the second game in a row let their opposition score before the ice was dry. One minute into the game they were already down one nothing. Up hill for the cherry blossums all night. On a lighter note the Danes didnt have as much advertizing on their jerseys as the Swiss, so in that respect the Japanses also weren't as far behind as they were against the Swiss.
