This draft was going to be for bWo owners only, but I'm willing to open it up to any and all HFBoards Leafs posters.
Please ONLY SIGN UP IF YOU WILL PARTICIPATE - this will be an intensive draft and may take a while, but it should be really fun.
After the controversy and demise surrounding GPH's draft (not that it was entirely his fault, just some ground rules were missing at the outset), I've taken it upon myself to construct the ultimate pool for bWo bragging rights through Yahoo.
Here are the details:
20 (!) teams, if we can find 20 (!) owners.

OFFLINE draft (more in a moment)
Active roster:
12 forwards (no position requirement)
6 defencemen
2 goalies
3 bench spots
3 IR spots
Head to Head scoring - you face off against an opponent for one week, 10 scoring categories, winner of each category gets a point (so if I win 6 categories, I win the game 6-4).

Assists
+/-
PIM
Shots on Goal
*Faceoff Wins*
(I hate using PPP and SHG as cats, they count already for goals and assists, why should they count extra? I thought faceoff wins was a neat statistic to try.)
Goalie wins
Goalie GAA
Goalie Save Percentage
Goalie shutouts
I know it's a lot of players. If we get 20 teams, that means we'd be drafting a total of 460 players - but I think it would be cool to have a draft against smart NHL fans where picking the right depth guys could make or break your team.
In terms of drafting, there are lots of options. We could do some of it on the board (if we start now, it's still early) with deadlines that are hard and fast but fair, and automatic procedures (i.e. if you miss your pick, you are awarded the player with the most NHL points from last season still remaining)...we could always try and polish off a few rounds on IRC or Messenger or something...or you could e-mail me lists of players and I could do a few rounds like that.

I think if we have it here (the draft) in the Forum and make it fast it should work with no problems whatsoever.....maybe even setup a schedule of when each of the rounds will take place maybe sometime during the evenings, this way we can guarantee that the draft will be complete before the NHL season starts..............

We need at least 12 teams to make this competitive. That's the whole point.
We'll be fine...word is spreading.

Well, I'm not president of the bWo, but as Commish of this league I'd LOVE it to be a live draft - that's the preference. I was just assuming that with league GMs from all over the place it might be hard to co-ordinate.
SPREAD THE WORD...I figured 20 GMs would be easy to find, so far we only have nine.

Good idea nordique...10 is a good enough number for a hockey pool league if that's what we'll have to settle for.

That sounds good to me.....maybe even set-up a Poll in this Forum asking what date/time people would rather have the Live draft for....have it so that the vote selections are revealed and then that way we will only consider the people's votes that are in the draft.

Thanksgiving weekend is a busy weekend for me and I'm sure many others. What about a sunday? That's the one day I know I'll be free.

syc, please change your team name to something reflecting your HF username...I want it to be easy for people to remember who is who in order to PM trade offers, etc.

Apparently we've had some teams drop out...if we don't get some more, we're gonna have a hard time getting this off the ground.

I think you should just set-up a time and date and just go with who we have..........If we have 12, 10, 8 or 6 teams it doesn't matter......whatever we have we should just go ahead with it anyways......just my 2-cents (canadian).
I have set my player ranking list, so in case I miss the live draft...
Just use my pre-set list
