How's Tom Preissing doing?

I followed Tom over his 4 year college career, and I'm curious how he's doing during camp. Last I saw he hadn't been sent down to the AHL yet. Does he have a shot at making the Sharks this year? If he does get sent down, does he seem to be close enough that he could earn a spot after a year or two of AHL seasoning?

I have read the comments about him in other threads, but it's usually just a one word description, like that he looks solid or composed. I'm more looking for guesses as to where he'll end up and what his potential as an NHL player are.

From what I have seen in scrimmages, he would line up right after Davison and Ehrhoff as the 8th defenseman in the pecking order. Since the Sharks have said they will probably keep only 7 D's, his near-term future will depend on whether they decide to keep Ehrhoff on the roster or send him to Cleveland for some seasoning. If they decide on the latter, I would expect Tom to open the year in San Jose. I'm sure the final decision will depend on performances over the next seven preseason games.
