i thought that they were going to give Ian White a shot in an exhibition game.... strange to keep him around for only 1 or 2 practices rather than just sending him back on saturday with all the other juniors. maybe quinn realized he has way too many d-men already in camp, and wouldn't be able to squeeze white or marsh into a game.

Perhaps, though I might mention that John Ferguson Jr. is now the acting GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs...

He and Jeremy Williams (both on the Swift) would benefit from another year in the WHL and should both make the St. Johns team next year. Where their development goes from there is a bit of a question mark.

I would expect to see White make the Leafs in 2-3 years, I havn't seen him play but all the scouting reprots, news from the WJC and media say hes a very gifted offensive D-man. Williams COULD turn into a good, speedy sniper for the Leafs, but he has a lot more work ahead of him then White does.

You didn't watch the WJC last year?

No, I didn't get to see very much of it.

You wouldn't like White that much, he's not that strong and didn't hit anybody, therefore useless

then just use him on offense and don't give him that much defensive responsibility. I don't hate Kaberle, Quinn just plays in situations when he shouldn't (like lastnight on the PK).

he seems like an Andy Delmore type player.

It's a good idea to send him back. We have Too many young defense prospects fighting for jobs.

17 D's
that's ridiculous

it doesnt look good for pilar or hedin or kondratiev at this pt.
pilar could accept going to stjohn's on injury rehab
hedin hasnt been noticed much
and kondratiev is 20, likely better off getting more playing time in europe.

that rounds it off to:

kaberle mccabe
berg jackman
marchment pushor/belak

they'll get 1 or 2 D's soon in deals i would have to think.

The Leafs have gone overboard with the defensemen at the draft. No wonder they have very little skilled forwards.

I don't think Kondratiev would be returned to Europe. I'm not even sure its allowed, but in any case St. Johns seems like the place for him if he's not in Toronto.

But based on early reports I wouldn't be surprised to see him taking the 6th spot.
