It's 2005-2006, who dumps season to try and get Crosby?

Yeah, yeah, I know all about the Lottery, but, you gotta be in it to win it.

Here are my candidates(pending the league and these teams exist):

1) 1A) 1B) 1C) Toronto

2) Montreal
3) Pittsburgh
4) Edmonton
5) San Jose
5a) Buffalo

TORONTO An aging team, that could be totally dismantled by then.
What better way to rebuild.

If you are diving in 05-06 you are one year late for Crosby...

You may be right, then make it 2004-2005. I thought he was 3 years from being drafted because he is underage?

My impression is that he is eligible in 2005 under current CBA. Which is not going to be valid in 2005. By all means, this speculation is waaaay premature.

i won't admit i haven't heard of crosby, so i'll just ask for the benefit of those not in the know: who is he?

Basically he is the next annointed Hockey God. The next Gretzgy, next Lemieux.....

Here is the HF stuff on him:
Sidney Crosby

Country: Canada
Position: Centre
Born: 08-07-1987
Height: 5'8
Weight: 165
Eligible: 2005 NHL Entry Draft
Plays For: Dartmouth Subways of the Nova Scotia AAA Midget Hockey League

Already, many rate Sidney Crosby as the top-ranked player for the 2003 QMJHL draft. Crosby might the most scouted 14-year old in North America. Sidney became the youngest player to play Junior A at the age of just 14, playing for Truro Bearcats of the Maritime Junior A league. Crosby received praises from the coaching staff of the Subways, as the coach Brad Crossley announced that "(Crosby) has NHL written all over him" and "he has awesome natural instincts".
Comments by Steve Gionet: "(Crosby) was an exceptional passer, with some of the best hands and moves that I have seen... He is so fast out on the ice, he blows away the (opposing) players... He has a a great shot with accuracy. (Crosby) can grind it out along the boards with players much older and taller than he is, but (his) defensive game is getting lazy. He had two assists in the game that I saw him play and people were saying that it was the worst game of his life. I thought he was awesome."

Interesting Fact: Sidney's father, Troy (a goaltender), was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1984 NHL draft. (Photo courtesy of Mike Simon)

thanks ghost of dale hunter, by the way i like the handle.

will anyone else ever assemble a team as ugly as the mid-nineties washington capitals ever again? the only one in the top-ten fugly ranks not on their team at the time was mike ricci...

this kid has the numbers, but until he suits up in CHL i wouldn't get too excited. love to see it though, this game needs stars and quick, like what's going on in atlanta.

Thanks, I think it is the kids tourney play that has really built up his name, the hype is just beginning. Go to the prospect board and do a search on his name, it is amazing.

The Capitals were EASILY the worst mugged team in history.

Even Wayne Gretzky has stated that Crosby is the best young hockey player that he's seen since Mario Lemieux..........that's saying alot right there...........Gretzky goes on to add that Crosby might be the guy that ends up breaking some of his NHL scoring records..........

When he was 14-years old he was MVP of the Canadian midget triple-A championship and had 162 points (72 goals and 90 assists) in 57 games.

His first regular season QMJHL game...his team is down 3-1 in the third, so he scores a natural hat-trick and wins the game .

his second game he does virtually the same

team down, sets up a play to tie the game, in OT he wins it

I think he has 11 points in his first 3 games
