54 years ago Bruce Springsteen is born in Freehold, New Jersey. (1949)

36 years ago The Doors' "People Are Strange" is released. (1967)

34 years ago The Illinois University newspaper, "The Northern Star" runs an article with the headline "Clues Hint At Beatle Death", citing the Sgt. Pepper album cover and the line "I buried Paul." (John Lennon would later claim it was "I'm very bored") in the fadeout of "Strawberry Fields Forever." It would spark one of the hypes of the decade: the Paul Is Dead controversy. Within weeks, Paul will inform journalists from his Scotland farm that reports of his demise are premature. (1969)

31 years ago Mott The Hoople's "All The Young Dudes" is released. (1972)

29 years ago The drummer for the Average White Band, Robbie McIntosh, dies in his North Hollywood hotel room. He died of a heroin overdose when earlier that night he inhaled a white powder thought to be cocaine but was actually pure heroin. McIntosh was 24. (1974)

25 years ago Veteran Memphis gospel-soul singer Soloman Burke makes a rare disco-era entry into the soul chart with "Please Don't Say Goodbye to Me." It stays on the chart for only four weeks, peaking at #91. (1978)

25 years ago Foreigner's "Double Vision" is released. (1978)

23 years ago David Bowie replaces Philip Anglim in the title role of the hit Broadway play, "The Elephant Man," in New York City. (1980)

12 years ago Guitarist Izzy Stradlin leaves Guns N' Roses and is replaced by Gilby Clarke. (1991)

6 years ago The Rolling Stones begin their "Bridges To Babylon" tour at Chicago's Soldier Field. They begin the show with "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and close it 2 1/2 hours later with "Brown Sugar." They play mostly classic Stones songs, only playing two new ones off their "Bridges To Babylon" album. (1997)

Ya and maybe even word getting around about Paul's death.........very interesting theories they have about Paul's death.........if he really died like some would suggest the original McCartney did then that would mean that what we are left with now is One Beatle and he being RINGO STARR.
