Proposal, kind of: Grier/Nylander

What caliber defenseman could either Mike Grier or Michael Nylander bring back to Washington? Straight up, could either player bring back a top 3/4 (preferably 3) defenseman?

I dont see Grier being moved...being paired with kono and halpern gives us a helluva checking line that can play both ways

Nylander will probably play the entire season in DC unless the caps are way out of playoff contention which is a real possiblity, then Nylander would be expendable...he was a bargain for what the caps traded for him and his contract is pretty decent compared to other similar players...but even at trade dealine i dont see him fetching a top 3 guy in return...he probably wont be in a cap's sweater this time next year anyways so it all comes down to how the cap's season is going
