Last night the Dropkick Murphys announced they will be playing at the Fleet Center November 15th after the Bruins play the Canucks. I don't know the details, just thought I'd pass it along. Could be a great night.

-They also said some of the B's were going to join them for a few songs.

-edit to fix the date

I met their guitarist at a concert last year. We were both wearing Bruin jerseys coincidentally. We talked for like 20 minutes about the Bruins.

They've posted the show on their site (http://dropkickmurphys.com/news/index.html). This should be a great time, if you can only get to a couple games a year (like me) I highly recomend you make this one of them.

Heard a single with them and liked it. What songs should I listen to to get into them more?

All their stuff is pretty solid, you can't really go wrong. I'm more of a fan of their first record Do Or Die and their early 7 inches. But it's all good music, they're great live and a real nice bunch of folks.

"Do or Die" is quite simply one of the top ten albums ever recorded IMO....

For those looking to get a sample of Dropkick Murphy's I'd try to listen to the song "Time to Go". The song is about the Bruins, personally I think it should be played at every bruins game.

Songs for the working man (and woman). They started off more hardcore. Play some traditional Irish stuff. I liked them more when they started out. Didn't they change vocalists too?

Isn't Boynton a big fan of theirs?

Maybe they can get Slapshot to open up for them? Maybe get Choke to play for the Bruins??

Yep...they changed singers after "Do or Die"...Mike Mc-something was the guys name and he didn't want to tour. One of the original guitarists married a hot Swedish chick and that was the end of him.. :-)....But the past two albums had THREE gutarists, and then added some bag pipes and tin whistles and stuff like that.....They are alot "softer" than they were, but still crank......The new "Blackout" album/cd has a Bruins song on it.....Joe Thornton had an interview recently wearing one of their shirts....Boynton does love them...
