Sorry if this was already mentioned....I've been skimming through all the new threads and posts and I haven't seen anything on it, but I could be wrong.....
The Herald reports that MOC wants to offer Bergeron a contract, though he's not sure yet what kind.

If Patrice has such a good head on his shoulders, then he should stay. He'll do better than anyone we could trade for...or Hilbert/Donato. Hopefully Zino stays too. Why the heck not. They're not going to play next year anyway :(
I think the contract MOC is looking for is ten years at fifty bucks: two-way. No 401K included, and partial dental coverage.

B's will also pay FICA and give him a parking spot.

I'd love to see Bergeron skate on a line with Sammy on the left and Zino on the right.
Hilbert and Huml should be moved IMO. There just isnt room for them on the Boston roster.
Do you think either of them could handle being demoted to the farm again???
Doubtful!
Would they benefit by riding the pine in Boston?
No way!
So what gives??????
Shane I am starting to think the same way...well at least about Hilbert anyway. Then I start to think about how well he has produced in his first two seasons and I see hope. Huml has shown enough IMO to warrant a longer look.
IF, big if, Bergeron stays here is how I would like the lines:
Thornton/Murray/Samsonov
Rolston/Knuble/Axelsson
Bergeron/Lapointe/Zinovjev
Stock/Zamuner/McCarthy
With this being said it would be a very fun group to watch, but will the Bruins see more benefit in him going back to Juniors? Think about it, that lineup is leaving out Hilbert, Huml, Grosek, and Martin Samuelsson.
The lineup would give us one superstar line, one line with Rolston at center that would be great defensively and pretty darn good offensively, and a third line with Lapointe being the veteran anchor around two talented kids. The fourth line would be tough, and at the same time would not be a nightmare to see them play 10 mins a game.
I am in the camp that I dont think you really need to have a defensive center anchoring your third line. That type of style hasnt really been indicative of the way line matching has gone (for the most part) recently in the NHL. Unless you have a superb checking center (example Madden) you really see top line playing top line and so forth. I think the above lineup gives us some solid depth, one nearly unstoppable line, and some veterans who play well at both ends....and even some toughness thrown in for good measure. Not the 88 Oilers, but should be a fun group.
