Ok, here's the situation. I get a DVD from my friend which has some Naruto episodes on it. i copy and paste the files/episodes from the DVD to my documents. But when i try to play it, it says something like

"some portions of this file may not be played. Would you like to check if there is an update available for this file?"

So i click "yes"

And then it says something like

"real player needs to download new software to play this clip"

i click "ok"

then...

"RealPlayer needs to install extra components inorder to view this file. Please wait while searching"

but then it says:

There is no software update available from REal to support this content

so my question is, Is this DVD corrupt? how come my friend can open it on her computer without any difficulties. I've tried to open it with WMP to no avail. If it is corrupt, is there any way to fix it?

thanx

you need a codec and/or realplayer is crap

i use The Core Media Player for all of my anime and it comes with its own codec
http://www.tucows.com/preview/299014.html

Key features:
DVD playback support
DivX/XviD support
Winamp visual support
Advanced media library
Native Matroska audio and video support

i think it's because the files are still in .AVI Format

Do i have to uninstall REal Player? Or how what format do i have to change them to and how?

Or is this DVD just plain corrupt?

thanks
