Has anybody skated on synthetic ice? Is it really like real ice? Does it not get cut up like real ice? I'm curious!

They had something like that on the set of NHL hockey on TSN last year. I never it but my brother tried it and he said it felt good but not good like real ice.

Watching the hockey demo video they have....

It's wierd. I dont think I'd like to skate on it, the puck doesnt seem to glide as well as it would on real ice.. Stopping without the spray is amazing though, and I wonder how the ice doesn't get all choppy and snowy?

I'd love to have one of those in my backyard...playing hockey in the middle of summer! It'd be only good for that though...nothing like playing on real ice though.

That's actually really cool...

It says it's around 200$ per panel...6 panel minimum.

So for a good sized rink in your backyard you'd probably need 8-10 panels..

Yeah, so about $2500 for something that will be great for the kids and last a few years. I don't think it would be a bad investment if your access to a rink is limited.
