bWo, A Message from the Mayor !!!

I am passing on the following e-mail from our Supreme Allied Commander, please take the time to read it, I find the last line rather touching, a slogan from our rivals, the dreaded Habs, seems to say it all. And if I can add a comment, bWo has come under some criticism it appears recently. Personally (and I admit I am biased) I think bWo was a powerful tool in up-grading the image of Leaf posters and the SOB/bWo avatar bet last year was the epitamy of being good sports. bWo as the Mayor states may have crossed the line occasionally but basically bWo was "here to entertain".

Message for the bWo members, Leafs fans, anyone in general that has wondered,

First I would like to thank Northern Dancer for posting this message for me, and for his concern when I just up and left. Thanks to Wally too. Apologies to Buffaloed for the pissy email when he just locked the account instead of deleting it and I started getting notifications about clearing the private message box.

I guess I should apologize to the bWo for just bailing like I did without letting you know I was leaving the board. I guess it wouldn't have mattered because all the messages would have disappeared anyway. It was very addicting to be arguing player values, just shooting the **** with you guys, or coming up with wild schemes with the bWo gang. I really appreciate the good times and bad times we've had. I have always believed the Leafs have the best hockey fans in the world and all of you have proven me right.

I read the board for the first time in about a week today and wanted to have a few things clarified. First is NOTHING, absolutely nothing that happened on the board was a factor in my leaving. I just needed to break free because I was just spending far too much time on the boards. I just couldn't walk away. Too many days I let things slide because I managed to get caught up in the ongoing at the board and wasted away a day. The fact is, I just wasn't enjoying the board as much as I had in the past and felt it was the time to try and make a clean break. I didn't take my ball and run as Moose Head suggested; It wasn't about the avatar like Flyers 26 thought. It was only about me wanting to do right for my family. Hopefully, I won't be back, or if I do come back it is with better control. I thought it would be best if the account wasn't there to make it easy to slip back into the old habit. Leaflover said that I had my account deleted a few times, but that wasn't true either. The only other time I deleted my account was when someone created a second account and was harassing and threatening me and my family. I panicked that time and deleted it, but I didn't go away. I was posting with a non Mac account for about 6 weeks before returning with the Mac account.


I have a lot going on at home and there are a lot of things I want to do with the kids. My third child (second son) is due January and I have a lot to accomplish to be ready (like selling the house and finding a bigger one--- still haven't traded in the vehicle for a school bus yet ;)). I tried to convince my wife to name him Nikolai, but was told NO NIK FOR YOU!! I guess she was paying attention to my shenanigans. My older son will be starting school next year, so this is probably the last year that he will be available all the time. I want to enjoy this time. Kids just grow up too fast. Time is golden, should be enjoyed to the fullest, not wasted away.

I really hope you guys keep the bWo going strong. You might have noticed Northern Dancer hasn't been around much lately. It seems we have come to the same realization. Enjoy life, enjoy family. They are our anchors. I am looking to Think Blue, Leafaholix (please, PLEASE change it back!!!), Dutch Leafsfan, and maybe, just maybe Rand to take a leadership role and the responsibility of improving the image of Leafs fans. We take a lot of **** guys, most undeserved. The whole idea behind the buds World order when Northern Dancer and I came up with the idea last December was to do whatever possible to change the view of the others of Leafs fans. Sometimes we were on the right track, and other times (mostly because of my quick temper---sorry Dr Helmut Kohl) we strayed from that goal. We almost (again my doing) always had the best of intentions. I will always look back fondly on the 2003 playoffs despite the result because of what we did along with the Flyers fans to raise the esteem of the Leafs fans. I look to you young guys to take it to greater heights. To steal from the Habs (sure sign I'm slipping when I look to the Habs for inspiration), 'From failing hands, we pass the torch to you. Actually mac i said this is the 3rd time you left not the 3rd time your posts/account were deleted.The first was around the time of the leafs/sens series of 02 when someone got into that particular personal issue with you.The second was following the BWO Buttafuco/avatar/ change fiasco and this of course is the 3rd time.In fact its been my understanding that each instance was at your request.

Just wanted to clarify what appears to have been a misinterpretation of my post.

I understand............sometimes even I spend way too much time on my PC and have been known to stay off the Net for upto 6-months at a time.........sometimes a breath of fresh air does wonders for me too.

Wow, that was a great read. Mac, if you read this, you will be deeply missed as a leader and spokesman for bWo and more importantly for hosting our golf and bbq getaways in Macapollis (sp?!). Thanks for starting (along with ND) this alliance so to speak, you helped unite leaf fans and we stood up for ourselves and each other instead of taking **** that wasnt needed from other teams *COUGH.....Habs....COUGH COUGH*

I will do my best to help maintain the bWo in any way I can, I realize I'm not an integral part of bwo or anything but I will be there when called upon. Make sure to stop by in the playoffs and see what kind of avatar Dar and GPH and other photoshop genuises have formed to represent the bWo, we'll miss you

What a good man. Clearly one of the best posters on the board. I wish him all the best of luck in everything except for Lakehead hockey. :p (MacD: I know you're reading this; the bet is on for this year, If Lakehead goes father than Western, I'll don the avatar for a week. ;))

Good luck to ya Mac, u will be missed but drop a line every once and awhile your reading the boards.... Over the last few months out of reading all the posts on the boards i have enjoyed reading yours all the time!!! so again good luck to ya and continue to cheer hard for the leafs and BWO FOREVER!!!! :yo:

Good luck Mac, I understand what you mean, I post during working hours and even though my work is backing up to the point of no return I still can't pull myself away. Hope to see you back in the future even if just as a guest. We'll (the bWo) do a tribute in one of our further ventures in your name as you and ND were the founders. What's your number and we'll hang it from the rafters of bWo HQs (in honour of course, we don't retire numbers).

Hopefully you'll return in time to sport another Flyers avatar this spring. Must have felt good last year getting back to your roots.

For those that don't know Mac was a Flyers fan when younger, and Bobby Clarke was his favorite player.

The first step to recovery is acknowleding that you have a problem.

Now that you are aware of your addiction to Hockey Futures you can be treated at the same clinc that has successfully sobered up Theo Fleury, Bob Probert, John Kordic, Darren McCarty and Brian Savage, just to name a few.

Now if only you would acknowledge that your addiction to the Leafs is dangerous to your health you may live long enough to actually see them win a cup.

WE will see him back eventually. Enjoy the time off. We will be here cheering like always. Good decision to take some time off especially when it effects your family life. Some of the guys in here should maybe look at themselves as well and make this type of rational decision.
