10. Develop a bigger rivalry with Atlanta and Tampa Bay. The Washington rivalry has died off, I think, due to the apathetic players that populate their lineup.
9. Vrbata gets 20+ goals
8. O'Neill hits 40 goals again
7. Weekes plays 60+ games
6. Murray-Adams-Adams becomes the grind line of the east.
5. The Cane's will once again be in the bottom part of the league in terms of scoring goals
4. Despite the preseason hype, Staal will end up in Juniors.
3. Will compete for the Southeast Division title until the end of the season...
2. Will lose the Southeast Division title and wind up either 8th or 9th in the East.
1. Ron Francis will finish his career by beating Gordie Howe's record of 22 straight seasons with at least fifty points by getting his 23rd.

^ I agree with most of those, and it will probably show.
10. Bruno St. Jacques will cement his place in the NHL with his steady defensive and physical play.
9. Josef Vasicek will have a rebound season and put up 35-40 points.
8. The team will start out the season well and save Paul Maurice his job.
7. Erik Cole will pick up where he left off in his rookie season.
6. Radim Vrbata will provide the goal scoring the Hurricanes so badly need and register 25 or more goals.
5. Sean Hill will continue to look stupid and take stupid penalties.
4. Danny Markov and Bob Boughner will bring an imposing physical presence to the blue line.
3. Kevin Weekes will prove to be a serviceable starting goalie.
2. Pavel Brendl will put up respectable numbers in Lowell and be rewarded with a call up.
1. I agree with CanesFan10 - "Ron Francis will finish his career by beating Gordie Howe's record of 22 straight seasons with at least fifty points by getting his 23rd".

10. Markov will eventually emerge as a top pairing D-man, but will struggle early to fit in.
9. Boughner will be a fan favorite by Thanksgiving
8. Ryan Bayda will continue to surprise with his hockey smarts and playmaking ability.
7. Pavel Brendl will continue to under-achieve ... likely for the rest of his career.
6. Jeff Heerema will eventually join Nik Tselios as one of the most disappointing first round pick of the last decade for the Canes.
5. Radim Vrbata will run hot and clod, but eventually notch around 25 goals this season.
4. Pat Desrochers will end up back in Lowell eventually to be replaced by God only knows who.
3. Jeff O'Neill will put up 30 or more goals ... again.
2. Ron Francis will continue to defy Father Time
1. Erik Cole will emerge as one of the best young power forwards in the NHL.
Notice ... I'm skipping Staal because I think it'll be a bear to sign the kid.

10. Canes will aquire either Satan or Comrie in December.
9. Weekes will put up excellent numbers. The new defensive core will make Keven look better than he is.
8. Cole will lead the team in goals.
7. Brindy will help with most of the goals.
6. Staal will win the Calder because of 31 goals.
5. Bruno will put up 15 PP points
4. Hurricanes will make the eighth seed because of the defense. Thrashers will win the Southeastern Division.
3. Irbe will re-construct his contract to be moved. Destination, New York Rangers.
2. Carolina will not score many goals or let many by.
1. The defense and GA are the best in the league and the system holds strong through the playoffs.

10) JR will trade Aaron Ward or leave him unprotected in the waiver draft to make room for an emerging St Jacques
9) Staal will sign, and put up over 50 points in his rookie season, likely wining the calder.
8) O'Neill will put up 35+ this season and re-gain his hitting form since he will be on a line with Vrbata and Francis
7) Francis will put up 60+ points
6) Weekes will put up Vezina worthy numbers due to the improved defense.
5) Markov will emerge as the #1 d-man on the team by year end
4) Carolina will finish as the division champions
3) The Canes will acquire Straka to play on the same line as Staal. My bet is that Svoboda and Zigomanis will be in black and gold because of this move
2) Cole and Vasicek will have breakout years
1) Carolina will make it to the conference finals, but will lose in 7 to Ottawa
