I like to visit this Forum from time-to-time just to check up on what the Flames' fans think and have to say about their favorite NHL team...............What are your Top 10 Predictions for the Flames this Season?.........

1. The Flames will make the playoffs.
2. Iginla will get 50 goals.
3. Kobasew will score 20+ as a rookie.
4. Turek will have his 1st solid year as a Flame.
5. Leopold scores over 35 points from the blueline.
6. Gauthier will be dealt at some point.
7. Conroy will be re-signed.
8. Saprykin will achieve 45+ points.
9. Josh Green will score 10 goals.
10. Flames finish in top 10 for GA.

How long did it take to post this exact same thread on every board?

In most cases, the response rate has been between 0-3. Here's a real shocker, it's already out to 4 pages with the bWo.

1 - Rhett Warrener will be injured for at least 15 games
2 - Martin Gelinas will score 20 goals - again.
3 - McAmmond never quite gets back to where he was with Conroy & Iginla, spends time on a checking line.
4 - Chuck Kobasew scores less than 20 goals
5 - Oleg Saprykin scores more than 20 goals
6 - Turek plays not-half-bad overall, but still inconsistant
7 - Sutter trades off a prospect for some scoring help
8 - Iginla scores around 40 goals and 85 points
9 - Steven Reinprecht is a huge flop
10 - Robyn Regehr has a great season, and even scores a couple goals

1) Flames make the playoffs - barely
2) Flames lose in the first round - still fun being there though! :yo:
3) Flames finish ahead of the Oilers :handclap:
4) McAmmond becomes a checker - 3rd or 4th line
5) Gauthier, or Lydman get traded
6) One of Saprykin or Leopold gets a lengthy concussion
7) Reinprecht plays less than 60 games
8) Igilnla close to, or winning Richard trophy again
9) kobasew gets 20, Saprykin gets 20, Betts gets 10
10) Flames finish ahead of the oilers !!!!!!!!:handclap:

4) McAmmond becomes a 4th liner and is traded
5) Saprykin starts strong and then is involved in the trade for Ricci
6) Leopold becomes the PP QB the the Flames have needed since the departure of Morris
7) Reinprecht outscores Iggy
8) Igilnla has a 30-30 season
9) Kobasew gets 20 and finishes 2nd to Rita in the Rookie of the year balloting.
10) Flames definetly don't finish ahead of the oilers !!!!!!!!:handclap:

Hate to sound pessimistic, however this is my 10 predictions:
1. Miss the playoffs again
2. Iginla traded at deadline for a combination of Flyers including Gagne
3. Turek involved somehow in the deal with Iginla after another average, inconsistent season
4. Reinprecht Scoring 30+ Goals
5. Flames to finish ahead of Boilers (last and third last in the conference respectively)
6. Everyone being bitterly dissapointed by the overated change of players by Darryl Sutter, while being a great coach, unfortunately i doubt he can perform miracles
7. Lombardi to make the team mid-late season and shock people with his offensive talent, scoring about 10 goals
8. An injury to at least one of Iginla, Turek, Regehr so there is something for us fans to blame not making the playoffs on.
9. Betts to play suprisingly well
10. I guess this is more of a hope...Roman Abramovich to buy the Flames, give us an unlimited payroll, and the first move is DITCH CHRIS CLARK! And then next season we make playoffs and turn into the Canadian equivalent of Colorado or something :D
YES I KNOW IT WON'T HAPPEN! but we need something to look forward to after another unfortunaltey poor season from us.
Either way we still need to rid of Clark, then i'll be happy

I won't say a whole lot about predictions except that the Flames WILL be a better club this year under Sutter,i know preseason means d!ck but this club is dominating the other clubs so far..aside from the very first period agains't EDM the last 11 haven't been close no matter who Sutter puts in the lineup.
I say they'll be fighting for spots 6-10 in the toughest devision in hockey.

HINT if your picking 3-5 in your hockey pool...take Iggy...he's looking very healthy :)

1) Iggy scores 45 goals, 43 assists for a total of 88 points.
2) The Flames will finish with 15 points more than they did last season.
3) The Flames scoring attack will be much more balanced this year - 30 more goals from the second and third lines than last season.
4) Kobasew will be in the running for rookie of the year but will lose to M. Fleury.
5) Saprykin will score 25 goals this season.
6) Sutter doesn't make any major trades during this season.
7) A minor trade will be made before the trade deadline.
8) At Christmas, the Flames will be in 5th place in the West.
9) The Flames GA goes down by 40 goals over the season.
10) The Flames will finish 9th in the west, and will be in the playoff hunt until the final weekend, when they will tie the Oilers and miss the playoffs by one point. The oilers by the way will finish 10th in the west.

In no particular order...

1. Iginla will again score 50 be in the Top 10 in scoring....

2. Lydman will score a personal high in points cracking something over 30....possibly uptowards 40

3. Kobasew will score atleast 20 goals

4. Saprykin will struggle to perform at Sutter's standards

5. Reinprecht will score more points this year then Drury did last year

6. Denis Gauthier will be traded

7. Robert Dome will play some regular season games with the Flames this season

8. Flames will get off to a very hot start....and maintain a plus .500 record the whole season

9. The FLames will make the playoffs

10 The Flames will have a better record then the Oilers.....

Just thought I'd bump up an old prediction thread, always fun to read later....I can't find any of my predictions though (probably for the better) Nice too see we had some optimists.
