both of you have some wierd predictions

Ohlund with 60 points? that would have put him in 4th in defensemen scoring this year... only 2 points behind Lidstrom

Career ending injury for Linden? dear god don't say that.

30 game suspention for a check from behind?

Crawford getting fired? Burke calls hiring Crawford his best move as a GM.

Yah my Crow prediction probably won't come true...but you never know-a bad start could see him in hot water pretty fast-coming on the heels of a 3-1 playoffs collapse against the Wild. I don't mind Crawford, I'd just be surprised if he is the coach to lead us to the Cup. But pleasantly surprised, to be sure :D

1. Naslund and Bertuzzi both see their point totals drop from last year.
2. Daniel and Henrik both put up the best numbers of their careers and more than make up for the top line's dropoff.
3. Cloutier has his third straight 30 win season and posts impressive numbers.
4. Cloutier falters in the first round of the playoffs and is replaced by Hedberg.
5. On Hedberg's shoulders, the Canucks reach game 7 of the WCF but fail to advance to the SCF.
6. Sami Salo has a breakout year and nets 45 points.
7. Lindgren is promoted to the third line and has the best year of his career - both offensively and defensively.
8. Ohlund's injury from last year lingers throughout the season, forcing him to sit out intermittently while hampering his overall play.
9. Burke makes a trade during the season for a forward (well before the trading deadline), but it's not as big of a splash as the fans want.
10. Allen is involved in the above trade.

1 -- Naslund scores 51 goals
2 -- Bertuzzi signs contract extention, misses 10+ games with injury, still pots 40+ goals
3 -- Salo or Ohlund miss 25+ games with injury
4 -- Jovo is in top three Norris voting and d-man scoring
5 -- Crawford is not canned
6 -- Sopel or Allen will be traded
7 -- Daniel and Henrik will have career years
8 -- No rookie plays more than 10 games for the team this year
9 -- Cloutier and Hedberg play roughly the same amount of games because of injury to Cloutier
10 - Canucks finish behind Avs in division, lose in Conference finals

(bonus prediction: May breaks his hand on someone's helmet [not his own helmet though])

A reality check.

1. Sedins on pace for their usual 30-40 points.
2. Forcing Burke to make a trade to bring in more scoring.
3. Hedberg gets injured.
4. Cloutier can't cut it Auld takes over as #1
5. Naslund struggles, is frustrated by close-checking and traps that most teams employ this year. Finishes with 80 points.
6. Bertuzzi struggles because of Naslund. Barely nets 30 goals. Finishes with 60-70 points.
7. Canucks barely make playoffs. Finish 7th or 8th in conference.
8. Naslund and Bertuzzi catch fire in playoffs. Canucks make finals.
9. Canucks eliminated in finals in 5 games by Ottawa.
10. Burke stands pat for yet another offseason.

that's not a reality check, that's pestimism.

here's mine, some uppers and some downers

1.) Naslund falls just short of 50 once again, as Naslund and Bertuzzi take a slight drop in points
2.) Morrison puts up a career year in goals and points
3.) Jovanovski reaches the top-5 in defensemen scoring, and narrowly misses the top-3 in Norris voting
4.) The twins both put up a career year in points, but after Linden is put back on the line again after the Arvedson experiment fails
5.) Although the Arvedson fails with the twins, he remains a good checker for the Canucks on a line with Cooke and Chubarov
6.) Burke makes a key move at the deadline
7.) Injuries enable some prospects to try out for a roster spot, and like last year with Reid we end up with a surprise that ends up being labled as a bluechip
8.) Canucks make the playoffs in 5th seed, yet again facing St Louis in the opening round
9.) The Hedberg experiment pays off
10.) Canucks eliminated in the WCF by a rival

Crawford getting fired? Burke calls hiring Crawford his best move as a GM.

Ohlund, IMO, has the potential to be a top 5 d-man in this league. Only his injuries have been holding him back.

Linden? Hey, he has been pretty injury free his whole career so his number just may come up.

May's suspension? Let's call it more of a "wish" than a prediction. I just don't like May.

As for Crow...I think that was someone else's prediction. I think Crow will be around for a very long time.

1. Cloutier will silence his playoff critics, because it's hard to criticize a backup.
2. Naslund and Bertuzzi will see their point totals drop
3. The Canucks decide to employ the trap in the playoffs and make it to the finals, but get beaten by the masters (NJ)
4. Ohlund gets more Norris votes than Jovo
5. Sedins slightly improve, but are still well short of their expectations.
6. Canucks release a 4th jersey...featuring the original logo with the modern colour scheme
7. Sopel is again a minus player, but Allen gets traded
8. Every single game is sold out, Canucks post another big profit
9. Cooke scores 25 goals, is a Selke finalist
10. The Canucks bandwagon that has been building up recently is cut down by a work stoppage

This thread is eerily familiar to one I saw in the Pens forum.

:)

For the 'Nucks, odds are:

1) Bert and Naslund's totals will drop a little bit.
2) Sedins totals will increase by not a little bit.
3) Hedberg will be the #1 goalie before January.
4) Arvedsson will rack up regular season points, flop in playoffs.
5) Ohlund and Ed will become the best defensive pairing in hockey.
6) The 'Nucks will not make any big trades, barring injury
7) The 'Nucks will finish 2nd in the WC (homerism alert)
8) The 'Nucks will make the WC finals (only moderate homerism here)
9) The 'Nucks will lose the WC finals
10) Burke will keep the team intact over the summer; no big changes.

1 - Naslund puts up 100+ points and scores 40 - 45 goals.
2 - Bertuzzi scores less than last year, with around 85 points and around 35 goals.
3 - Brendan Morrison scores 30+ goals
4 - Both Sedin's have career years.
5 - Jovanovski too, is 3rd on Norris balloting, and outscores all other defensemen in the league with 24 goals.
6 - Ohlund, Arvedson, Salo, and Cloutier are all injured at some point in the season.
7 - Naslund and Bertuzzi both play 82 games again.
8 - The Canucks win the division, and come in 2nd in the conference.
9 - We face the Nashville Predators, Dallas Stars, and Detroit Red Wings and beat 'em all in 6 games or less.
10 - The Canucks face the Philidelphia Flyers in the finals in as physical of a Stanley Cup Final as we've seen in years. The Canucks win the series in 5 games. The Canucks win the Stanley Cup.

How's that?

1-Naslund puts up 50+ goals and leads the league in goals
2-Henrik emerges as a bonafide 2nd line center but Daniel regresses slightly.
3-Cloutier is stellar in the regular season but his performance in the playoffs is worse than last year.
4-Jovo finishes in top 3 defenceman scoring and is finally recognized as one of the elite defenceman in the league.
5-Ohlund gets injured and misses 20-25 games
6-Sopel regresses defensively but puts up about the same amount of points offensively.
7-Canucks have the top power play in the league
8-Cooke, Chubarov and Arvedson play well and are considered one of the top 3rd lines in the league.
9-May becomes the new goat in Vancouver after taking too many stupid and costly penalties.
10-Canucks finish second in NW behind Colorado and make it to the second round in the playoffs but are beaten by Dallas.
