Spitfire11 09-26-2003, 10:40 AM Could you please check out the play of Kyle Quincey. Edler Von Gud 09-26-2003, 11:02 AM How was Lukas Mensator? Douggy 09-26-2003, 01:09 PM How was Lukas Mensator? It hasn't happened yet. ;) I'll let you guys know about these specific two when I get home tonight. Edler Von Gud 09-26-2003, 02:36 PM It hasn't happened yet. ;) I'll let you guys know about these specific two when I get home tonight. You said the game was September 25th, today is Semptember 26th.. :dunno: :D Spitfire11 09-26-2003, 05:02 PM You said the game was September 25th, today is Semptember 26th.. :dunno: :D I always mix dates up too... Douggy 09-26-2003, 06:20 PM You said the game was September 25th, today is Semptember 26th.. My bad. Anyways here's a bit of the lowdown: Ottawa -2 London - 6 Kyle Quincey - Unfortunately I didn't see much of him because I was at the end that Ottawa was defending most of the night, but I did notice we was quarter-backing the London powerplay and doing a pretty decent job. Lukas Mensator - It took the Knights less than 1:30 to expose this guys major weakness: lateral movement. Four of the Knights first six goals were scored on plays when Mensator had to move from side to side and react. He seems to have good positioning, angles and reflexes, but his lateral movement just wasn't there. He also tried to play the puck once and failed miserably. Gerald Coleman - Very solid, but wasn't tested the way Mensator was. He did a great job with his positioning and angles, and this probably contributed to me thinking he wasn't having any trouble. :D Corey Locke - I didn't see him do anything spectacular. Vadim Karaga - Excellent playmaker; tons of speed and energy. Doesn't go looking for physical trouble, but took a big hit to set up London's fourth goal. I really like this guy and I'll be interested to see where he goes in this years draft considering the fact that he's pretty small. Danny Bois - Scored a goal on a two-on-one. Took his usually stupid penalty. Tried to start fights with about two minutes left in the game. I still hate him. ;) It would be nice if people would do a recap like this for every game they go to this year, that way, we can all hear about our favourite OHL prospects! Spitfire11 09-26-2003, 07:26 PM It would be nice if people would do a recap like this for every game they go to this year, that way, we can all hear about our favourite OHL prospects! good idea, thanks for the report CharlieGirl 09-26-2003, 07:42 PM I have season's tickets to the Rangers - I posted a mini-report on the Flyers' prospects (Mike Richards and Jeff Carter) on that board, as well as a quick note on the Kings' board about Petr Kanko. If there is anyone in particular you want a report on, let me know and I'll try to give you some info (probably not as detailed as Douggy's though - nice work!) cagney 09-27-2003, 11:12 AM I have season's tickets to the Rangers - I posted a mini-report on the Flyers' prospects (Mike Richards and Jeff Carter) on that board, as well as a quick note on the Kings' board about Petr Kanko. I'd love to hear what you think of rookie Matt Lashoff. CharlieGirl 09-27-2003, 12:17 PM I've only seen him play twice, but from what I've seen, he's going to be outstanding. He's been paired with Benoit (and it looks as if this pairing will continue) and has done a good job defensively and offensively (4 assists in his first game). He doesn't seem to make the typical rookie mistakes you'd expect. So far, he's the real deal. Aver33 09-27-2003, 06:30 PM Nice post Douggy. This London team could be dangerous this season as it is. Imagine how much better they'd be if they can get back Dennis Wideman or Danny Richmond... or even both! wow. Im keeping my fingers crossed. Go Knights Go Douggy 09-27-2003, 07:01 PM I REALLY like the group of offensive forwards we have this year. It seemed like every time the puck was in the Ottawa end, we would be generating chances. Have you seen Karaga yet?? He reminds me a lot of Fata from his London days, which is good news! :D Brock 09-28-2003, 06:40 AM I have season's tickets to the Rangers - I posted a mini-report on the Flyers' prospects (Mike Richards and Jeff Carter) on that board, as well as a quick note on the Kings' board about Petr Kanko. What is your personal opinion of Evan Mcgrath? The few games I saw him play last year, he was very good. He's got great wheels, seems to play a pretty all around game and on top of that, has excellent offensive skills. I came away very impressed. I think he's got a definite shot to push inside the Top 5 this year? Would you agree? CharlieGirl 09-28-2003, 07:06 AM What is your personal opinion of Evan Mcgrath? I think he's got a definite shot to push inside the Top 5 this year? Would you agree? He had a great rookie year last year and I think he learned a lot playing on the top line with Derek Roy and Greg Campbell last year. He has definite skill and speed - he's been inconsistent so far this year (he'll make a brilliant offensive move, but then turns the puck over in the defensive end a minute later), which I guess is not unusual for a very early 2nd year player. He's centering the 2nd line, so I look for him to have another good year. As far as Top 5, I hope so but I'll wait until further into the season to make that call. Aver33 09-28-2003, 05:52 PM Have you seen Karaga yet?? He reminds me a lot of Fata from his London days, which is good news! :D If I haven't noticed Karaga already, i'd be watching the game from under a rock. He has been one of the most explosive forwards on the Knights this season thus far. He's quite the player and find for the Knights. I have enjoyed watching him so far. Here's praying this is finally the season the Knights can end their 39 years without a championship. Biff Malibu 09-28-2003, 06:11 PM Danny Bois - Scored a goal on a two-on-one. Took his usually stupid penalty. Tried to start fights with about two minutes left in the game. I still hate him. What's not to like about Danny "small girl" Bois? If someone needs'a tunin' Danny'll do it. If someone needs'a talkin', Danny'll do it. I don't think he's the greatest leader or captain but that kid is as tough as they come. He's always first in line to stick up for his teammates. JasonMacIsaac 09-29-2003, 03:38 AM Khomutov had 3 assists, no talk of him. And if somebody needs to take a stupid penalty at the worst possible time, Danny will do that too! :D theo6060 09-29-2003, 01:46 PM Lukas Mensator - It took the Knights less than 1:30 to expose this guys major weakness: lateral movement. He seems to have good positioning, angles and reflexes, but his lateral movement just wasn't there. He also tried to play the puck once and failed miserably. This is kind of surprising to me. Just about every time I've seen Mensator he's been rock solid. He's great a position play. Most of the saves he makes are due to his superb positioning I found. He is really aggressive to the shooter, and in the games I've seen him he hasn't been too aggressive. His speed, too, is one of his assets I find. The farther out he plays, the more confident his game is on that particular day and the more aggressive he is. I was a bit disappointed he didn't play on saturday when the 67's played the St. Mike's, although it really wouldnt have mattered in a 10-2 blowout. Douggy 10-01-2003, 06:45 PM Nice post Douggy. I'm pretty glad he was cut though, can't wait to see him down at the JLC! | ||
