Zednik or Zubrus

Who will have more points this season?

Its probably a fair bet that Zednik will have more goals.....but who will have more points. Zubrus held out last season....that combined with new coach and the failed move to center had him off to another very slow start......but.....after returning from injury in late december he out-pointed Zednik the remainder of the season.

I think its fair to say Zubrus has more skill, and potential then Zednik, but what Zubrus is going to show up? For what the last four years, everyone has said its going be his breakout year and become a consistent threat.

I think they will be close in terms of points, but I would give the edge to Zubrus because he plays on a stronger offensive team, while Zednik may be forced to lineup with Ribeiro, and the slowly developing Hossa. If Zednik was assured top line with Koivu, I might lean towards him but everything indicates that won't be the case.

Zednik. Zubrus will never break out, he's already had plenty of chances playing with talented enough players in Washington.

Zednik is a 25-30 goals scorer

Zubrus is a 20 goals scorer

Zubrus is like Zednik but bigger and better defensively.

Zubrus is having a fantastic preaseason--definitely the best player on the team. I know it's basically become a joke, but this year could be his year  .

Zednik can score around 25 goals but for the assists... he doesn't pass very often so it will be close between him and Zubrus. I think Danius Zubrus will get more points.

Zednik. I've been sure Zubrus was going to break out for so long now that I've just lost faith in him.

I can understand what you mean......but there are some good points brought up in the below article.....

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A7211-2003Sep26.html

This is just the second time in Zubrus's career that he has played for the same coach to start consecutive seasons

Coming into the league at such a young age you would think stability would be an important factor in his development.....so one would HAVE to think that the fact he has played for 7 coaches in his 7 seasons had not helped at all

One of the reasons I've given him so long is the young age at which he came into the league. After his season with the Habs on the ZZiP line I really thought he'd break out the following season. Then it was 'he's looked good with Jagr, wait until he has a full season with him' and that never happened. I appreciate the struggles that have been placed on him, but I think it's too late now. He'll be a good 40-50 point player, maybe with one 60 point season, but I think that's it. It's bad luck on his part though. Had he not been rushed and then been in so many 'turbulant' situations he probably would have been a PPG player, but I think it's too late now.

Bigger players (forwards and dmen) also take longer to break out....may I remind you of Bertuzzi, Daze, Thornton, Murray, Jokinen, Scatchard, Lecavalier, Allison...the list goes on. Zubrus has been on countless teams, played under many different coaches, and didn't get a training camp last season. How could one expect a player to produce a ppg under these situations?

I think Zednik will outscore Zubrus, I`ve lost all faith in Zubrus "breaking out" I don`t think he`s got it in him. :dunno:

Zednik. Especially if Koivu stays healthy all year.
