i think its more of a leadership thing. i think i read somewhere he is very supportive of the younger players. i dont think they should keep playing him on d though. i would much rather see lupo or scuderi play tehre instead

Moran >>> McKenna, yep.

Most definitely.

But, if done the right way, I think McKenna being able to play defense might not be a bad thing. If a defenseman gets ejected or injured during a game, I think McKenna can fill in and be relatively effective. Saves our best guys from logging too many minutes. The problem will begin when McKenna starts getting regular minutes as a starter on defense. I'm definitely against that. We could find someone better in free agency or in the waiver draft most likely.

That's the bulk of what I took from tonight's game. The coach and GM keep calling for people to step up and score goals. Well Koltsov, along with a few others, are doing just that. He has definitely taken the necessary steps to make this team. Let us only hope that it's a sign of good things to come.

I was at the game tonight. Wow. Lot of insight.

McKenna on defense is a horrible idea, especially paired with Bergevin.

Koltsov's play has really improved from last season. He was amazing tonight.

Mario and Straka looked great.

Berehowsky was a pleasant surprise.

Tarnstrom played average at best.

Orpik played smart and solid.

Focht was a bit reckless.

Morozov played very well I think. He was skating with confidence and controlling the puck well.

Fata played alright. He didn't seem as explosive as last season.

Caron seemed a little bit disorganized and had a bit of a 'deer in the headlights' look to his play most of the night.

I was there. He wasn't scoring, but he was controlling the play around him and not relying on other players to always get him the puck or set him up. I see that as an improvement in his game even if other aspects were flawed tonight.

Setting up IMHO a spot for Lupaschuk. Even Bissionnette looked ten times that of McKenna and Focht.
If anyone else played like Tarnstrom last night he would have had a bus ticket to WB/S! Average at best???? He sucked. You must have been at the beer stand for a few minutes during the first period.
