I wonder who will play tonight? Anyone know our exact roster?
It'll be interesting to see if Fiddler makes the team. Would the fourth line be Fiddler flanked by Tootoo and McKenzie (When he comes back from injury)?
St. Louis 3, Preds 2
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 03:18 PM Blues score the first goal on the PP after Johnny and Orzsagh fail on a 2 on 1, MacInnis scores the goal.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 03:23 PM We've given St. Louis 3 PP's in the first 6 minutes of the game
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 03:24 PM Make that 4 PP's in 7 minutes and a 5 on 3 for 27 seconds.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 03:38 PM Tootoo kills Danton in a fight according to the Announcers as Danton cheapshots him as he is going after Baron and another Blue.
Weber calls for Danton's ejection.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 03:39 PM Tootoo kills Danton in a fight according to the Announcers as Danton cheapshots him as he is going after Baron and another Blue.
Weber calls for Danton's ejection.
Danton gets 2 - 5 and 10. Baron gets 2 for roughing and Tootoo gets a 5. Preds get 2 man 2 minute advantage.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 03:41 PM Preds pull out their 12 gauge and blast their foot off. Too many men on the ice, there goes that 2 man PP.
Sounds like Upshall committed the infraction and will serve it. 4 on 3.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 03:43 PM Sounds like Zids has a cannon, ripped one glove side on Ozzie. Ozzie gloved it but Crispy and Weber sounded stunned by the power of Zids.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 03:47 PM Another penalty on the Preds. That's something like 7 in the first period alone. Total of 17 PIM (one as a major) in the game.
Vokoun has 4 of those, this one is a roughing, the first was a high stick.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 03:48 PM End of period, 1-0 St. Louis. PP carries over to the second period. Blues 1-6 on PP so far.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 04:10 PM PP Preds, Holding on Baron.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 04:11 PM Offensive lines I've noticed so far...
Orzsagh, Johnson, Murray
Erat, Hall, Arkhipov
Simon, Allison, Tootoo
Upshall, Hartnell, Fiddler
Uh oh, Tootoo took a puck to the face, hope he's OK
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 04:15 PM Here are our D lines so are
Timonen, Zidlicky
Schnabel, Kloucek
Eaton, Hutchinson
and obviously, Vokoun is in net.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 04:16 PM Another PP preds, Mellanby with a tripping.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 04:18 PM PP expired, didn't do much of anything on this one
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 04:22 PM Vokoun out (1 GA on 11 shots) and Lasak is in at the halfway point, roughly.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 04:25 PM Nicholas scores, 2-0 blues at 12:57. Fluky bounce according to Crispy, puck bounced around right onto the tape of Nicholas and it finds the net.
Enoch 09-26-2003, 04:27 PM
Enoch 09-26-2003, 04:28 PM ow Lasaks having a tough time tonight
3- 0 M. Baron scores ;/
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 04:28 PM Make it 3-0. Lasak was screened badly and Baron throws a weak wrister that went through 4 people for the goal. Nothing like the seeing eye puck. Man, if we could only catch a break.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 04:29 PM ow Lasaks having a tough time tonight
3- 0 M. Baron scores ;/
This is fun (not the score) because I am listening to both St. Louis radio and Nashville's duo. You get a ton more info. with 2 more pairs of eyes and different viewpoints.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 04:31 PM Weight spanks the crossbar on a break.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 04:34 PM Reed Low gets called for charging Tootoo. Dirty *******, I take some other comments back. I hope Kloucek ends his season. Be it now or in the regular season, I wanna see ACL's and PCL's and MCL's all over the ice. Supposedly he took a serious run at Tootoo.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 04:37 PM Period expires, still 3-0 Blues. 2 bad goals in 2 minutes. Neither were Lasak's fault but both hurt.
Spaceace 09-26-2003, 05:00 PM 4-0 Blues Drake scores, assisted by Rycroft & Ryan Johnson.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 05:01 PM 4-0 Blues Drake scores, assisted by Rycroft & Ryan Johnson.
Yup, missed that one. Had to grab a bite to eat. Couldn't get back in time.
Thanks.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 05:02 PM I want so badly to get frustrated but then I remember, we are playing without our top line (AJ - Legwand - Walker) and without our top returning Dman (York) and without Hamhuis. As offensively challenged as we are, we can't expect to score when we don't ice our best two scorers in AJ and Legwand.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 05:05 PM Holding on Schnabel, Blues on PP.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 05:06 PM Hartnell scores shorthanded down by 3 at 8:17.
SmokeyClause 09-26-2003, 05:23 PM Game, set and match and this one belongs to the Blues.
OurGocIsAnAwesomeGoc 09-26-2003, 07:09 PM i was sort of afraid that would happen to Lasak when he actually had to face NHL competition. Prior to now, he's been facing AHL and prospects, and so of course he's been impressive...and i know that you said that they weren't "bad goals," but that doesn't really make you feel better when you lose a game 4-1. if you're going to be a successful goalie in the NHL, you can't rationalize things that way.
sparkle twin 09-26-2003, 08:49 PM well.....at least we got a short-handed goal, that's good.
Hartnell has scored in the 3 games he's played in, I hope he keeps that up into the season.
And we played without: our entire first line, one of our best defensemen, and one very promising dman. So really we had only 1 of our top 5 guys playing. (top guys being first line and #1 pair dmen)
Just trying to look at the bright side of things here.
Basher 09-26-2003, 11:59 PM Also, Koun came out mid way through the 2nd. He had only given up one, so its fair to reason he could have kept it close, but Lasak also needs to be ready each night...or if Koun gets hurt, it could get ugly.

Agreed. It's more or less a moral victory and we don't need those anymore. But this is his only bad game and he was fielding a team far inferior to that of the Blues. They blues iced alot of good player last night; Mellanby, Weight, MacInnis, as well as a lot of their usual suspects like Drake, Reed Low.
They sat some notables like Demitra and Pronger but as a whole, the Predators sat more crucial players. Our entire first line didn't play, neither did our top returning Dman and arguably a top 6 Dman in Hamhuis. For a team as shallow as we are, that's important. Obviously, it's no excuse to lose, but it does shed a better light on the loss.
Stranger 09-27-2003, 10:17 AM Eh, its just preseason. Not that I want to see the team lose, but its still just preseason.
Good to see Hartnell getting on the scoreboard so far in the preseason. Sounds like Tootoo is making his presence felt too, and thats a good thing
