Oi'll say! 09-26-2003, 08:22 PM Do you guys want our 1st line center/enforcer?
Him and Briere will be a force to be reckoned with out there!!! ;)
Give us Nagy and you've got yourself a deal.
P.S. - Congrats on the cool new logo, the old one was really really ugly.
Kimahri 09-26-2003, 09:09 PM Kinda hard to have the force of Comrie and Briere when Briere is in Buffalo.
And for the deal, I'll pass, thanks..
Guest 09-27-2003, 06:54 AM Considering we are stocked at center, and Comrie is a small center who might have a bit of an attitude problem, and we aren't going the small route again after Briere. This deal makes no sense.
But thanks for playing, now you can go to the next team board and do it all over again! :)
Comrie for Nagy is a wash
Both talented
Both young
only guess whos cheaper?

A WASH???? NO WAY. Nagy has much more potential than Comrie and we don't need another smurf. Nagy is not big either but is slightly bigger than Comrie and plays in traffic well. I'm expecting 30 - 40 goals out of him.
As a Isles fan I sya you guys should keep Nagy. He looks like he's going to be the player many projected him to be. A hard nosed scoring winger is some thing I would be hard pressed to part with for a undersized scoring center.

Center? I guess, but would probably be a better wing.
Enforcer? Uh, no comment.
Waldo 09-27-2003, 11:00 AM Both Nagy and Kolanos are going to be awesome this year. I'm expecting them both to be our top goal scorers. I like Comrie, but it'll be tough to get equal value for a player that's smallish and unsigned.

Briere doesn't play for the yotes anymore. Stay in your Alberta state of mind.
Dancing Chicken 09-28-2003, 02:53 PM Hey be Nice.. Some of us live in that Alberta state of mind :p ;)
Oi'll say! 09-28-2003, 03:03 PM Briere doesn't play for the yotes anymore. Stay in your Alberta state of mind.Yeah how could I possibly have forgotten that Briere was in Buffalo. It was such huge news when the big powerhouse Coyotes traded away the league's premiere forward.
Sorry for posting this trade proposal guys, I didn't know it get you in such a huff.

Comrie is younger, has played less games, has scored more goals, gotten more assists, and only got 6 less points last season after missing ten games and wearing a cast for the last month of the season.
I agree that Nagy is an excellent player and should get bigger numbers this year than in seasons past, but try to be realistic dude. He's not Marion Gaborik.

Im sorry, that math doesnt add up

Maybe he is not Marion Gaborik, but there isn't a person here that would consider that trade. Nagy and Kolanos are currently the ONLY Coyotes that have elite goalscoring potential, and most of us believe Nagy is due for a breakout year not to mention that he is well regarded by his teamates and the Phoenix public. Maybe the Oil can trade Comrie for Briere.

I believe the key word was has as in past tense but Comrie still has never gotten more assists then Nagy did this year. I don't know why all of Phoenix is so crazy about size all of sudden its wierd Briere was a great player and u traded him for Gratton bleh!(comparitively speaking)
heart and skill win hockey games. Wayne was only 6ft tall and the greatest hockey player ever I don't know why hes trying to trade for all these monster forwards sure size is nice to have but its not a requirement for a good player its not some magical key for winning or success.
Comrie's diminutive stature reduces the number of interested parties and lowers his trade value. That lowering of trade value depends on how many teams value Comrie's aggitating style. I personally think he's a tremendous talent but (and it's a big but) trading Nagy creates a huge void on the left side while the addition of Comrie only adds to an already complicated center ice position. I'd be interested in Comrie but only if it came at the expense of a Gratton (not likely) or Hrdina (our best player at training camp). Phoenix isn't eactly coveting smaller skill players these days.
My opinion (and I might be alone on the Coyote board on this) is Comrie is a great player and one worth acquiring. However, Phoenix isn't likely to give up Doan, Langkow, Nagy, Vaananen, Mara, Tanabe, Ference or Kolanos. LeNeveu is likely off limits as well. Names that Edmonton might consider and that Phoenix would likely be willing to part with include: Hrdina, Gratton, Johnson, Taffe (only under the right deal), and Radivojevic (again likely only under the right circumstances).

And what was Briere's plus/minus in Phoenix? Langkow was a +20. Briere was a sparkling -21. He was a liability on the ice and for a second line center that is not a good thing. In fact, he essentially became a powerplay specialist in Phoenix and in dealing him Phoenix management sent the message that all players would be held accountable if they didn't buy into the system.
FacelessButcher 09-28-2003, 04:48 PM I don't think Comrie for Nagy is a very fair trade the Oil would have to add something or expand the deal. Given your current player base and team stigma of big players first I would also agree Phoenix is not a very good place for him to play. Um, I don't know where u got agitating style from although he is good at drawing penalties but where I come from we call it diving.
PhoPhan 09-28-2003, 04:52 PM Comrie may provide more offense, but Nagy makes up for it in so m any other ways.
