Lewiston overagers

Who are the overagers expected to be in Lewiston this year? With Hamilton getting JDD from the oilers and Yann Danis as the likely starter, Jaroslav Halak will likely be ECHL bound, but Long Beach does have Olivier Michaud. So I'm wondering if there's a chance Halak ends up back in the Q instead of spliting time in the ECHL.

Jonathan Paiment
Brandon Roach

Not sure who else.

I thought there was no doubt that Halak was going to start the season at Hamiliton (AHL) another overager is Alex Picard who will defintley be with Syracuse (AHL). If Halak goes to Long Beach he will be joined with former teammate Sheldon Wenzel who signed with Long Beach. Colby Gilbert is another overager but most likely he won't be invited back to camp.

Halak did join the Bulldogs in the post season, so it was expected he would make the jump after a solid season in the Q. But recently the Habs signed a deal with the Oilers and there's a rumor that the Oilers will send goalie JDD, so Halak would be the odd man out in Hamilton. He could end in the ECHL and that makes a lot of sense, but there's still Olivier Michaud who had trouble at times with Long Beach last year when he took over the starting job. I assume the Habs management will send Halak to Long Beach but if he can't take the job away from Michaud, then it would make sense to send him back to the Q where he can play a ton over splitting time with Michaud. I have no idea what will happen and I tend to think he'll end up in the ECHL, but if not I think it would be good for him to go back to Lewiston.

Blackshad,

If you think Paiement has a strong shot....if you get the chance, keep an eye on Brandon Roach, the other overager mentioned. He has a 96+ mhp slapshot. The sick thing is the hardest shot I believe on the MAINEiacs is Chad Denny. What Paiement does that is his bread and butter is places a shot on goal with enough on it to give a decent rebound or easy redirect. Look at his assist totals and you'll see what I mean.

Maineiacs are loaded on defense with the three mentioned and Piche, Kolanenko (sp) and i think they drafted some defense of players. Bernier will have alot of protection around him. Maineiacs just need offense this year. I think 06-07 Maniacs will have a decent offense.

Yeah iv noticed Chad Denny too but i dont think Brandon Roach shot the game i saw.. I was so impress by 1. Paiement (Overall game..) 2. Denny (Big, strong, alot better than the average for his age as a defenceman) . But i only saw 2 games of the Maniac live this season ( Series vs Shawinigan) and 2 against Rimouski so..

I'm pretty sure Derek Bailey is an overager. I would add him to the list. Paiment starts in Lewiston but could end up with Moncton, Chicoutimi or Shawinigan by December.
