To Boston:
Comrie, Ferguson, Moreau
To Edmonton:
Rolston, Jillson and 4th round pick.
This is only speculation and I would prefer a Comrie for Boyton deal,or for Comrie to sign with the Oilers, but this deal also helps both teams. For Boston they get a talented 2nd line center, veteran d-man and a character/leader guy in Moreau. The Oilers get a veteran center that can replace Marchant between Smyth and Hemsky( if smyth does not work at center). They also get a very good right handed defense prospect in Jillson that could be the guy that helps our pp in the future.

Rolston makes $3.25 million. No way Oilers can afford that.
The Oilers have some cash with no Comrie. 4.5 million from last year to be exact. Plus the Oilers (even if you added the same 4.5 of Comrie) is a million less then last year.

I really can't see BOS giving up Rolston. Especially since Stumpel got traded.
OK, so say the deal does happen. BOS no longer needs a 2nd line center, but a 3rd line center then. Their need still wouldn't be fulfilled.

The Oil can do better than that. I'm not convinced yet that Jillson will be anything more than a 5th/6th defenseman.

From today's Herald:
``We're not going to trade him,'' said O'Connell this week. ``Nick is a different kind of case because the money is different. The guys we traded, we weren't even close on money. The money they wanted was way out of whack.''
The Bruins have offered Boynton a two-year deal worth about $3 million; the defenseman is likely seeking something closer to $4 million.
``He just has to decide whether he wants to play here,'' said O'Connell. ``It's up to him, because he isn't going anywhere.''
