mckenna on d again. one or two games wasnt bad, but now im just tired of seeing it. why not let somone like orpik or focht play instead? i undrstand the whole veteran limit, but i think this is a bit much now.

Well, it looks like Orpik might be a lock to make the team. Either that or he has already be assigned to Wilkes Barre.:dunno:

do we know the actualt lines yet by chance?

i have a feeling if kraft shows nothing tonight, he's either on the trade block or on hiw way to wbs, or another team that will pick him off waivers.

Just wondering if anyone caught who Phil Bourque was just referring to as players that have stood out in both exhibition games and practices, I think he was referring to two players. I had just logged in when he was mentioning it.

It's quite annoying. :)

Abid is a lock to make the team. I don't think they are going to send him down and risk someone taking him (which will undoubtably happen).

jhopspensfan

A night of sloppy play and nasty bounces...not necessarily MA's fault. He was also missing four starters on D in front of him- Melichar, Roszival, Orpik and Foct.

It has been a long week-end. A day off tomorrow, and back to work on Tuesday.

Hopefully this phone conversation will take place in the next couple of days- "Hello, Mr. Walsh. This is Craig Patrick. About this Fleury kid."

Let's Go Pens!!!!

or maybe it gives him a little leverage in contract negotiations. If the Pen's dont have the money to sign him how is Patrick to blame?

The Tang
09-28-2003, 03:40 PM
not to me. and i never said he was a bad gm, just that he disapoints fans. not so much in terms of trades, but more like roster moves. ie. playing p.o.s. like morasn and jonsson over orpik who was definitely better, and putting berry on waivers ahead of the same people. there are other instances, but i dont remember off the top of my head.

DJ Spinoza

If they can't pony up the money to sign Fleury, we're in big trouble.

However, they can afford him. And I'm talking of a contract that might not even be put into effect for a little while.

I agree with what jhopspensfan said.

Also, interestling enough, two guys who played three straight days in Murley and Malone, probably showed the most life out of any Penguin players tonight. I think they should both be rewarded.

And one more thing, I think a trade is in order over the next couple of days....Possibly Abid or Kraft.:dunno:

Why's that? The only thing I'm interested in is their performance. It's nice to see them drop the gloves but it really doesnt mean anything to me until they show that their willing to do it on a consistant basis.

They want a roster spot. They both played good all around all camp and preseason, and for their efforts they deserve a spot on the team.

Seems like certain players didn't give a crap out there tonight.

What players would those be?

Murley might have earned a spot, but what has Malone done to really earn one? This is the NHL afterall.

DJ Spinoza
09-28-2003, 05:23 PM
Kraft, Abid, Lupaschuk, even Beech to an extent.

No one really seperated themselves from the pack except Koltsov and Murley. Malone is right behind them, and has done well on the PK and PP and has played with an edge to the game.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Armstrong makes it either.

With all these non-waiver eligible guys possibly making the team, I think someone (maybe Kraft or Abid) will be traded so that we don't lose them for nothing as I touched on breifey above I think...

look out for orpik

i think i would trade kraft before i would ever think about trading abid. abid has alot of potentinal and its a shame that he has some injuries right now because they are impeding him from playing better. we have given kraft enough chances to show what he can do and he has come up empty esp this year so far. im not saying that everyone is doing this but ive kind of noticed that some people are sayin that we should trade or release abid because he hasnt done anything .... while it seemed(s) like everyone kept sayin, give kraft another chance, he needs to develop more and all that. i just think its kind of unfair. but i really really hope that they dont cut abid :dunno:
