(Sept. 29, 2003) -- Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today that winger Miroslav Satan has signed a two-year contract. As is club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. "We are very pleased to have Miro signed for the next two years," said Regier. "He has been an integral part of the organization for the past six seasons both on and off of the ice." Acquired from Edmonton on March 18, 1997, the 28-year old Satan has led the Sabres in goal scoring the last three seasons and has been the teams' top overall point producer the last four years. Satan led Buffalo in goals (26), assists (49) and total points (75) last season and his 75 points set a career high. Since the 1998-99 season, Satan has scored 165 goals to rank 13th in the NHL in that timeframe. I didn't think they wouldn't get a deal done but until it was complete, it nagged away in the back of my mind. A small doubt, now laid to rest.
