Waiver Draft Game

Simple. How many players do you think will actually be picked and who will be the most prominent player chosen?

It's not a bad crop so I'll say 7 players chosen with Jaroslav Bednar being the most prominent selection. I think there might be a team or two out there who feel he could be a good fit offensively and at only $500,000, would be worth the gamble.

Therien at $2.6, Boucher at $2.0, Bure, Joseph, Shields...usually teams pick very frugally at the waiver draft and I feel all these guys will get passed up. Even a guy like Simpson, who certainly is not 'way' overpaid at $1.5 million will get passed imo.

I'd like nothing more than to see some bigger fish selected though.

But Ivan Novoseltsev can't go first to Carolina ... they're in the same division as Florida. I think Pittsburgh takes Novo 2nd.

Bednar can't go first either. Same situation as Novoseltsev.

well, carolina may not necessarily pick someone, too.

the blackhawks will almost certainly pick up someone. how do i know? because we must be protecting Josef Marha for a reason... i dont know who it'll be, though. Therien is a little high priced. Trnka maybe? Tselios (hey, itd make sense)?

1. Ivan Novoseltsev
2. Jaroslav Bednar
3. Steve Begin
4. Chris Therrien
5. Karl Dykhuis

Those are in order they will be picked, not in the order of the draft.

I would think MacLean would love to have one of Bednar or Novo on the third line.
