i'd like to start a thread that lists each team's lines, as you the fans feel they might shake out for your favorite teams. boston is going to be tough, but here's what could shake down:

axelsson-rolston-zamuner

Ottawas will be hard as Martin is always changing the lines but I'll give it a shot on what I'd like to see.

Varada - Bonk - Hossa

Not much of a team at present as Deadmarsh, Cammalleri, Aulin, Allison, Norton, Zizka, Grebeshkov and Modry are each injured. Kuznetsov is stuck in Russia.

Edit: Klatt was wrongly omitted. Klatt is currently without a line but will likely replace Brown on the 4th line until he Deadmarsh and Allison come back.

Bulis - Koivu - Audette
Hossa - Ribeiro - Zednik
Sundstrom - Perreault - Ward
Dwyer - Kilger - Ryder

Markov - Rivet
Souray - Brisebois
Quintal - Komisarek

Theodore
Garon

Scratches: Juneau, Dackell, Bouillon

Audette could be bumped pretty quickly down the depth chart if he doesn't produce though and Perreault could get traded if Ribeiro steals his 2nd line center job permanently.

Paul Kariya - Joe Sakic - Teemu Selanne

*McAllister has played some pre-season games at LW, but would be a seventh defenseman as Liles has definitely earned a spot on the team.

Cody McCormick or Marek Svatos will be on that third line, with the odd man out being sent to Hershey. I can't see the Avalanche keeping one of them as a healthy scratch and Hershey would be the more likely destination.

Mario Lemieux -- Martin Straka -- Konstantin Koltsov
Ramzi Abid -- Milan Kraft -- Aleksey Morozov
Matt Murley -- Rico Fata -- Ryan Malone
Kelly Buchberger -- Mike Eastwood -- Matt Bradley

Josef Melichar -- Michal Rozsival
Dick Tarnstrom -- Drake Berehowsky
Marc Bergevin -- Brooks Orpik

No way Mario plays wing, Abid is suppost to be his LW isn't he?

Why not? He has before.

You can switch Lemieux and Straka if it makes you happy. But no, Abid is not supposed to be his left wing. The top line will consist of Straka, Lemieux, Koltsov to start the season.

EDIT - Here is a quote for the local paper:

Olczyk kept his other lines intact for the second day in a row. They were Steve McKenna-Mike Eastwood-Kelly Buchberger, Lemieux-Martin Straka-Konstantin Koltsov, Matt Murley-Brian Holzinger-Matt Bradley and Reid Simpson-Milan Kraft-Ramzi Abid.

More like....

Avery - Belanger - Laperriere
Pirnes - Chartrand - Brown

Norstrom - Gleason or Muir
Visnovsky - Modry (who should be ready)
Corvo - Strbak

Cechmanek

Miller would replace Gleason and play with Corvo. Strbak would move up to Visnovsky or Norstrom. The Kings wouldn't pair Miller and Norstrom together when they have so much youth on defense. Kuznetsov would be in the mix once he's in game shape.

Dustin Brown has been SENSATIONAL in camp (he's 18 yo). He might get his 10 games and then get sent back to Guelph. 10 games would hopefully buy the Kings some time with Deadmarsh, not sure about Allison though. Wouldn't be shocked to see Allison sit until December or January. I'm quite sure the Kings won't be happy with Stumpel as their 1st line center (been there done that) but hopefully it's temporary.

Watch out for Esa Pirnes, folks... this guy has a lot of playmaking ability as an overage Euro draftee....

Isn't that a little bit exaggerated FW ?
He did play an outstanding pre-game against the Coyotes and so far he has been more than decent BUT sensational ?

Anyhow in contrast with the prospects from other teams it's amazing he still has a chance to crack the line-up, of course also because of the injuries.

Actually it's not an exagerration. In a private conversation a buddy of mine (in the local media) had with DT the other day (before the PHO game, by the way) the organization is thrilled with Brown. They love how hard he works... they think he's close to having an NHL ready body NOW and they think he's as mature as any teenager they've had in camp maybe ever. DT said, he couldn't believe he was there at #13 and would have taken him much higher...

They don't project him to stay with the club after the first ten games, but with the persistent injuries, they may buy him out of his final Junior season and send him to Manchester if he does not perform after 10 games in the NHL.

That's HIGH PRAISE in and of itself.... The kid has TOTALLY impressed Kings' brass...

I don't see Pohl making the team at this point. While he has played great, there just isn't room for him right now (especially since his tryout at wing didn't go so well) and I can't see Q moving any of the top 3 centers to make room for him. Rycroft will likely get the spot on the 3rd line like you predicted in your 2nd set of forward lines...

Tkachuk Demitra Mellanby
Senja Weight Mayers
Rycroft Cajanek Drake
Danton Johnson Low

I can't figure out what Q is going to do with the d-pairings. Mac has spent time with both Baron and Jackman this preseason, but we haven't really seen enough of either Mac or Pronger to figure out who they are going to play with. If I had to make a prediction of what they would be while Salvador and Walker are out, I'd say:

Pronger - Finley
MacInnis - Jackman
Baron - Khavanov

Goalies are obvious...

Osgood
Johnson

Jan Bulis-Saku Koivu-Donald Audette
Marcel Hossa-Mike Ribiero-Richard Zednik
Niklas Sundstrom-Yanic Perreault-Michael Ryder
Darren Langdon-Chad Kilger-Jason Ward
Gordie Dwyer - Steve Begin

Andrei Markov-Craig Rivet
Sheldon Souray-Patrice Brisebois
Stephane Quintal-Mike Komisarek
Francis Bouillon

Jose Theodore
Mathieu Garon

With Zednik, Koivu, and Kilger all slated to be ready for opening day, that's the most likely Canadiens lineup. Should Quintal stumble, you'll most likely be introduced to Hollywood Hainsey by mid-November.

Tampa:

With one more cut to be made (either Cibak or Svitov) someone on another board came up with these forward lines, and I agree with them:

Forwards:
Fedotenko/Modin - Richards - St. Louis
Stillman - Lecavalier - Afanasenkov
Modin/Fedotenko - Taylor - Clymer
Andreychuk - Svitov/Cibak - Roy/Dingman

Yes, Afanasenkov appears to have made the team.

Fedotenko has spent a lot of time in the preseason on the 1st line with Richards and St. Louis and has looked good there, so that might very well stick.

Defense:
I have no idea about the pairings right now, but the top 5 are definitely:
Cullimore
Boyle (been out with a slight injury, should be back tonight)
Kubina
Sarich
Lukowich

with 6th and 7th up for grabs between Laukkanen (my choice), Pratt and Rumble (out with back spasms)

Goalies:
Khabi
