Shields done in Boston!

The Boston globe reports G.M Mike O'connell has told Steve Shields he no longer will be in the Bruins' plans.
The club will either loan him out to another organization or decide to buy out his contract (if not taken off waivers).

The Bruins will go with Potvin/Raycroft.
Raycroft should have plenty of playing time to show his stuff.
2002 first round pick Hannu Toivonen will play with the Providence Bruins and has the confidence of O'connell that he can fill in with the big club if there's an injury.
Toivonen has been VERY impressive with his quick development as keeper himself.

1.2 million isn't too bad...for some reason I thought he was making 2+ million....

I don't think he's the goalie he used to be, well actually he was never that good, but I still do believe he can be a usefull backup at that price for a team like Nashville or Chicago even...

Shields career really went down ever since he lost his starting job to Nabokov in San Jose. Shields gets hurt and Nabokov has that amazing season in relief.
