Daze, Bell & 1st

Arnott, Morrow & Tugnutt

Let the abuse begin!

Very fair value wise..

But the Stars would not need to stir up the forward pack, it's fine the way it is.

I'm not sure what this does for either team other than mix it up. As a Chicago fan all I have to say is we don't want a back up goalie. I'd rather one of our two rookies duke it out. Not like that's the major part of the deal though...

No deal from this CHI fan.

Morrow slightly more than Bell.
Daze slightly more than Arnott.
Daze's goal scoring ability more valuable than Arnott's faceoff and seldom hit the net from PP point unit efforts. Both about the same in the grit dept. (not a whole lot for big men, but not as bad as some say).
Gap between Daze/Arnott greater than Bell/Morrow so DAL has to add something.
Forget about CHI's 1st and Tugnett....not part of this deal.

Although I agree with most of your assessment, I'd say that Arnott is clearly a notch above Daze in the grit department.

Both Arnott and Daze are cut from the same wood. Both are huge, and should simply dominate the NHL game in game out, yet they don't. They are unbelievable inconsistant, Daze never ever uses his size, Arnott uses it about 50% of the time. I prefer Daze but it wouldn't make much of a difference, production isn't a lack in the Stars system, it's consistency, and frankly, Daze for Arnott would be a lateral deal. That said, I'd do Arnott and a pick or average prospect for Daze, but Morrow is simply a superior player then Bell, whom I simply don't understand what all the fuss is about. In fact, I already prefer Morrow above Arnott and I frankly would not deal Morrow for Daze straight up. Bell is only 6 months younger and has not even cracked 15 goals or 30 points, whereas Brenden has already 3 or 4 20+ goal seasons behind his belt, earned an 2A, is a rock in the playoffs and is much more well-rounded.

Daze > Arnott

But the difference between Morrow and Bell is way too big IMO.

If these 2 were to be dealt straight up, the Hawks would be the ones adding something, not the Dallas Stars.

Moot point anyways, deal doesn't really make sense from either side.

No go here. For starters, Tugnutt has no value to us at all, he can pretty much be only seen as a salary dump

Then we have arnott vs daze. Arnott plays with more grit than daze, and i like grit, but the scoring difference between the two is too significant to ignore. Daze is one injury-plagued season away from 38 goals, while Arnott is yet to hit 30. Arnott is also more injury prone, and is also yet to hit 80 games in a season. after his one injury last year, daze is apparently 'injury prone', despite the fact he's only been injured twice in his career.

Arnott << Daze

Then we have morrow for Bell and a first. Theres not really any doubting that at this point Morrow is better than bell, however, i dont think its enough to offset the difference of adding a top 15 pick in there. I still think Bell is the next Marco Sturm, and just needs a little more developing.

Morrow > Bell
Morrow < Bell, 1st

So no interest from us here
