So now that Langdon is gone we only have 12 forwards with any real NHL experience. King now looks like a lock to make the team. Do you sign Keane or look to some other veteran help once teams have to finalize their roster. Any idea who may become available or is on the bubble with some teams around the league? Any expected cuts as teams begin to have to pay their players?
Chances are Keane will be signed, but barring that, who else would you like to see the team go after?
Adam Graves and Steve Thomas are still available. Would they be a better signing for a veteran presence with playoff experience?

I don't see why we don't sign Keane now.. Unless there is something that's come up that we don't know about..
Keane appears to want to play here, has the experience and can fill in as the 12/13th forward.
Meanwhile, King can stay with the big club.
Langdon being picked up makes life for Burke and Crawford a lot easier.

i'm going to have to agree with cyris and say signing Keane just became a little more necessary

IMO Adam Graves would be a better fit on a 4th line than Keane. Graves is more versatile with better hands.

I think the Canucks will keep King up and also sign Keane. Burke might trade for an enforcer down the road.

but Keane has 3 cups.... and he is known to be a playoff performer, and IMO, his experience is invaluable to the canucks!

Keane has proven his worth in the preseason. Keane has 3 cups. Keane is also a very good defensive players.
Graves has 1 cup I think. He hasn't attended camp. And he isn't as good defensively as Keane.
Thomas hasn't shown an interest in Vancouver and turned them away when they inquired about him. He has 0 cups. He hasn't attended a camp.
Keane has earned a spot. He has done more than most expected so far and that's all you can ask him to do.

semi-off-topic but: was the kid-line in Edmonton Gelinas-Murphy-Graves?

I think Burke has to sign Keane now(as long as he isn't asking for too much) and keep the last roster spot as a rotation for players who are playing well in the minors. King deserves to start the season in the NHL and possibly on the 2nd line with the Sedins.

Graves would be more expensive than Keane and they'd play basically the same role

King will probably alternate with Arvedson on the Sedin line when Crawford juggles the lines during the game.
There will probably be two spots open depending on the play of Jarkko Ruutu or if Lindgren's back problems return.

I like King w/ the big club. He's worked hard, and deserves a shot.
