BruinsGod II 10-04-2003, 08:19 AM My opinion :
Murray - Thornton - Knuble
Samsonov - Bergeron - Rolston
Axelsson - Green - Samuelsson
Grosek - Stock - McCarthy
Boynton - Gill
Moran - McGillis
Jillson - O'Donnell
1) Potvin
2)Razor
I think both Berard and Bergeron will be signed before Wednesday .. If Bergeron stays I think he has a tremendous chance at the rookie of the year if he plays with Sammy and Rolly all season long ..
Ratty 10-04-2003, 08:51 AM Those are the lines I would pick if I were in charge...but then again, what do I know?
If Berard accepts what appears to be a diminishing Bruins offer, it will probably mean Providence again for Jillson. I was really looking forward to seeing him get a chance.
Magnus Fulgur 10-04-2003, 09:00 AM Jillson doesn't need to go to Providence if Berard is signed. Moran can be a healthy scratch, utility forward or seventh D. Jillson should stay. I'm every bit as excited about Jillson as I am about Bergeron!
McGillis Boynton
OD Jillson
Gill Berard
Moran

Answer is simple to me.....dont resign Berard.
Magnus Fulgur 10-04-2003, 09:17 AM Not bringing back Bryan wouldn't be the end of the world for the B's...but they do need to decide who is going to QB the PP.
McGillis: he worked well on the point last year. I guess he's not doing it this year for now because of his sore back.
Boynton: Last year, he had to do too much because the D stunk. Maybe if he is given the QB role and doesn't run around all the time he can focus. He has a great shot and good vision.
Jillson: He'd do okay here on the 2nd unit.
Then, Rolston could return to wing and be given the point role. He shouldn't have point and center.
We need to improve our PP, especially since we're going deep in the playoffs this year :)
Still a Bruin fan 10-04-2003, 09:23 AM Even if Berard is signed he won't be playing for a little while.
I do think it's time Jillson steps up to a regular role regardless of a Berard signing.
He's had extended playing time already at this level and
I expect he'll be paired with O'donnell.
O'c did say he was VERY pleased with Jillson but also mentioned he needs to improve his defensive play.
Maybe we'll see an indication of what the lines will be with tonight's lineup.
Lapointe's return will change things again, though.
sarge88 10-04-2003, 09:42 AM I'd go with;
Sammy Joe Murray
Rolston Bergeron Knuble
Axe Green Sammy 2
Grosek Stock McCarthy
McGillis Boynton
Gill Jillson
O'Donnell Moran
Raycroft
Potvin
I know that Joe, Murray and Knuble will probably happen and it worked well last year, but I think than Bergeron would benefit from the physical presence that Knuble can provide. I know he's not exactly Tkachuk, but he's more physical and tougher than Rolston, Murray or Sammy.

If I was a Bruins fan,I would not discard Jonathan Girard being your PP point man as of now.
My guess is that he should be skating again next January.
He has a tremendous will and he is in top shape, apart from the accident I mean.
This guy can get focused on rehab and do a lot of progress in a short span.

I hope you're right...
But you must mean january 2005.
Every time I read an update seems he was hurt a lot worse than originally reported.
First it was the broken pelvis. Next add broken veterbrae in the neck, Then add infection that required removal of some back muscle. Last thing was the addition of abdominal injuries that required or perhaps may require surgery...
I think the poor kid will be lucky to walk by January 2004.
As a matter of fact he'll be lucky just to lead a "normal" life...
CombatOnContact 10-04-2003, 10:11 AM I haven't seen much from this Bergeron kid that everyone is raving about. Can anyone post his preseason stats? How old is he?
I'm excited to see the Bruins this year ... as I am every year *sigh* hopefully this one will have a nicer ending. Without Bergeron...I would go with these lines...
Samsonov-Thornton-Knuble
Axelsson-Rolston-Murray
Zamuner-Green-Lapointe
Grosek-Stock-McCarthy
I remember Axelsson was on the top line a couple years back and he played effectively. Rolston always seems to play better with Axelsson, so maybe by putting them together and giving them a more offensive role, they will produce. If that doesnt work after a few games, I would also try...
Axelsson-Thornton-Murray
Samsonov-Rolston-Knuble
Does anyone else here think Axelsson has the tools to be in the top 6?

I am not sure what Berard has to do with the PP and improving it. He played less on the PP than Sean O'Donnell and his shot is terrible.
Our PP pointmen should be Rolston and McGillis. Two big shots.
Still a Bruin fan 10-04-2003, 10:49 AM The Bruins don't have anyone too good at blocking the puck slapped around the boards.
Bourque was the best EVER, that's right, at blocking the clearing attempts around the boards and moving it to the opposite point or playing it back down low.
I don't have any point here other than saying we don't have a Ray Bourque.
Just saying...
we don't have that kind of QB to rely on.
Bruwinz37 10-04-2003, 11:01 AM Here is how I see it. For now I am assuming Bergeron is signed and with the main guys healthy.
Thornton/Samsonov/Knuble
Bergeron/Murray/Rolston
Green/Axelsson/Lapointe
Stock/McCarthy/Zamuner
Boynton-Gill
McGillis-Jillson
OD-Moran or Jurcina
Raycroft
Potvin
I see Zinoviev working his way on to the fourth line with some type of rotation....plus there are always injuries.
Oh well....my two cents....
GAME FREAKIN ON!!!!!
Vincent Vega 10-04-2003, 12:50 PM Samsonov - Thorton - Murray
Knuble - Begron - Rolston
Axelsson - Green - Lapointe
Grosek - Stock - McCarthy
Boynton - Gill
McGillis - Jillson
Moran - O'Donnell
Potvin
Raycroft
Anyone heard any news regarding Berard?
lostboy_77 10-04-2003, 01:43 PM Here is what I am hoping with everyone healthy:
knuble thornton murray
samsonov bergeron rolston
ax green lapointe
donato/stock zamuner mccarthy
mcgillis jilson
boynton gill
moran o'donnell
if you go the top heavy route....
samsonov thornton murray
rolston bergeron knuble
ax green lapointe
donato/stock zamuner mcarthy
i like samuleson alot bu ti think he goes to providence for more time on the ice. ithink it is a waste to keep him up here and give him fourth line minutes. huml looks decent out there, but needs some finishing. if he had a break out year in provdence this year I think it would do loads for his confidence. donato is a decent penalty killer and i think he should make the roster at the extra forward. he goes down when zinovjev is ready....i have no idea how grosek has played.....
i think the big three top line could be magic on the ice. i see them every bit as good as the morrison naslund bertuzzi combo in vancouver.....the choice here is do we split up the big three (conventional) or go the vancouver route. i think the first five games may give us the answer
