Would you rather own Schastlivy or Varada? This year only. Thanks for any feedback. (who if any of these 2 will line up with Bonk & Hossa on the 1st line)?

Schastlivy in a heartbeat. He is cut from an entirely different pedigree than Varada. Schastlivy will not be a 4th line lunch pail kid on this squad, he is here as a sniper. I don't think 60 points is out of reason, provided he can piece together an injury free year - something he has yet to do. Regardless, Schast will be on a line with one or more of these key players: Alfie, Hossa, Havlat, Spezza, Bonk. That's all that really matters.

For points? Schastlivy. But he and Varada have different roles on this team. Each has his own value and contribute to the Sens' success.

Generally, the first and second lines are interchangeable with the Sens. But the Bonk and Hossa line has looked really good matched with Varada 9Varada-Bonk-Hossa). Schastlivy (if he would just stay healthy) was thought to be a good match for White and Alfredsson. Now with White moving to the left wing to make space for Spezza... who knows? Schastlivy-White-Alfredsson were effective last year. I think White and Schastlivy may end up alternating lines a lot to see which plays better (that's if Spezza can avoid his defensive lapses). If Spezza can't avoid those lapses, Martin will either sit him or play him on the third/fourth lines.

Schastlivy if he can stay injury free

Right now, they look to be playing on the same line. If healthy, Schastlivy will probably score a few more points, although it's quite possible Varada could score as much or more.

If Varada is playing with Bonk and Hossa (when Havlat returns) and if Schastlivy is on the third line or 4th line, then Varada could get more.

I'd bet Varada to get between 35 points approx and Schastlivy to get 45 or so, but those totals could change based on the lines they play on. Both are not without risk for a hockey pool.
