Vic Rattlehead* 09-13-2005, 06:39 AM Give me the Chiefs.
Herby 09-13-2005, 07:37 AM Eagles
Takeo 09-13-2005, 07:44 AM Packers
Hyped 09-13-2005, 08:00 AM There's no way the Ravens can lose two in a row, is there? Against the Titans in Week 2? Gimme Ray Lewis and company...
Douggy 09-13-2005, 08:44 AM I'll take the Eagles. Even though they're playing my (undefeated :D) 49ers.
Ar-too 09-13-2005, 08:52 AM I don't like any of the games this week. I went with the Eagles at home - which seems like a waste.
sveiglar 09-13-2005, 08:55 AM Note that lux_interior should still be alive this week as well; he mistakenly voted 'other' in the poll, but then posted correcting himself taking New England well before Thursday's kickoff.

Douggy 09-13-2005, 09:03 AM I Love how quickly this thinned out.
Last year I was out on the first game!

It's been corrected.
Impossibles 09-13-2005, 11:55 AM Lions over the bears.
I think I'm just going to keep picking whoever the bears are against. How the hell does a team that hasn't had a QB for 4+ seasons not have a backup plan? They are starting a 2005 4th round pick.
Mr Brownstone 09-13-2005, 12:11 PM How 'bout them Cowboys over the Skins.
golfmade 09-13-2005, 12:17 PM Detroit Lions.
Avery4Byng* 09-13-2005, 12:28 PM How 'bout them Cowboys over the Skins.
I hear ya mate
Impossibles 09-13-2005, 12:30 PM How 'bout them Cowboys over the Skins.
That was going to be my choice, but my gut told me to look elsewhere.
Ar-too 09-13-2005, 12:39 PM You can't pick the same team twice, right?
Impossibles 09-13-2005, 12:53 PM You can't pick the same team twice, right?
Correct
PACaptain 09-13-2005, 01:39 PM Tough week when I look at the schedule. I'm going with the Eagles over the 49ers. Like s3por2d said, I feel like this is wasting Philadelphia early but if you don't win this week, you don't even have a choice the next week.
Thought about the Lions or Chargers but they both play on the road in division games and I don't like that one bit this early in the year.
golfmade 09-13-2005, 04:38 PM You can't pick the same team twice, right?
Oops, didn't read the rules. Well, then I'll pick the Lions.
Unholy Diver 09-13-2005, 06:19 PM Colts
sveiglar 09-14-2005, 08:48 AM If it's not too late, I'd like to cast a vote for Disco Volante... er, I mean the Eagles.
Dartmouth 02 09-14-2005, 09:50 AM Eagles as well, unfortunately.
FearTheFlyers 09-14-2005, 04:48 PM I'll take the Eagles, but I think the Pack at Lambeau against the Browns is pretty safe.
Chileiceman 09-14-2005, 04:53 PM I took the Colts. They were pretty impressive against the Ravens specially the D
Hyped 09-14-2005, 06:13 PM Can the 'Niners do it again this week? I frickin' hope so... :hyper:
Legionnaire 09-14-2005, 07:06 PM I'm going with Dallas
lux_interior 09-14-2005, 07:21 PM Note that lux_interior should still be alive this week as well; he mistakenly voted 'other' in the poll, but then posted correcting himself taking New England well before Thursday's kickoff.

Thanks.
I picked (executed correctly this time) the Eagles. :D
John Flyers Fan 09-15-2005, 06:57 AM bump
mvp76 09-15-2005, 11:05 AM I hope I don't get bad karma for picking against the saints,
Douggy 09-15-2005, 11:44 AM So far nobody has picked the Patriots.
Hyped 09-15-2005, 11:51 AM So far nobody has picked the Patriots.
I despise everything about the Patriots...
Ar-too 09-15-2005, 12:26 PM So far nobody has picked the Patriots.
They have a tough match-up Sunday.
PACaptain 09-15-2005, 06:27 PM So far nobody has picked the Patriots.
Big game for Carolina already losing in week one and being the only team in their division with a loss. New England didn't make a great showing against the Raiders. I think most people would be happy if they lost. The Pats look vulnerable but I still wouldn't bet against them.
That said I took the Eagles because I don't think the 49ers can do it two weeks in a row.
ComrieFanatic 09-15-2005, 06:34 PM ill take the Eagles
ObeySteve 09-16-2005, 03:07 PM Picking the Eagles. Who cares if it's "wasting" a pick? Look at what happened when people were overly conservative and picked the Rams in week 1 to avoid picking one of the elite teams.
ebbhead 09-16-2005, 05:48 PM Cowboys
Blackjack 09-16-2005, 06:31 PM Picking the Eagles. Who cares if it's "wasting" a pick? Look at what happened when people were overly conservative and picked the Rams in week 1 to avoid picking one of the elite teams.
I sure as hell didn't think I was being conservative picking the Rams against the Niners. All of the "Elite" teams were playing good teams as well. Pats against the improved Raiders, Eagles against Vick and Co. in Atlanta, and The Steelers had both runningbacks out. Normally Carolina against NO would have been a pretty safe bet, but with all that happened, no one could predict the outcome. Indy against Baltimore is a huge rivalry and impossible to predict. IMO, the only reasonbly safe bet that actually won was Cincinnati.
ObeySteve 09-16-2005, 06:42 PM The Steelers against the Titans wasn't reasonably safe?
Unholy Diver 09-16-2005, 07:38 PM The Steelers against the Titans wasn't reasonably safe?
the Titans have had the Steelers number, winning I think 10 of the previous 12 meetings and the Steelers havent been too great in season openers under coach Bill so I was a bit nervous about picking them, granted I took the Lions who are hardly a safe pick but still.....
Blackjack 09-17-2005, 11:23 AM The Steelers against the Titans wasn't reasonably safe?
In hidsight it was very safe, but like Dr. Forrester said, the Steelers perform poorly in the beginning of the season, they were running a third string runningback, Rothlisberger was a Wildcard, and The Titans seem to beat them a lot. I still don't think there were any easy picks last week. Especially it being week 1.
There's no way the Ravens can lose two in a row, is there? Against the Titans in Week 2? Gimme Ray Lewis and company...
;) Cheifs beat the Raiders so I remain for now
sveiglar 09-19-2005, 07:32 AM 11 more bite the dust thanks to the Lions, Ravens, Packers, and Falcons.
edit: make that 8... three of those votes were posters that didn't vote in week one and are hence not in the game.
triggrman 09-19-2005, 08:25 AM wow, down to 25 then, that's quick.
John Flyers Fan 09-19-2005, 08:30 AM wow, down to 25 then, that's quick.
Could be to 19 if the Skins win tonight.
Takeo 09-19-2005, 10:06 AM Yep, I'm out. Although I find solace hoping this may finally be the end of Brett Favre.
Impossibles 09-19-2005, 02:40 PM Who the hell taught Chicago how to play?
PACaptain 09-19-2005, 02:49 PM Who the hell taught Chicago how to play?
I was thinking that while watching the ticker during our local Steeler game. I was very close to picking the Lions but like I said originally, division games on the road scare me. The Bears defense is tough and they had Joey Harrington's mistakes to feast on. Their offense even showed some signs of life.
Vic Rattlehead* 09-19-2005, 03:52 PM Chiefs win and I survive another week. :yo:
ebbhead 09-19-2005, 11:33 PM Are you kidding me? Kiss of death yesterday when I was the only guy left in another survival pool & also had the Cowboys bragging that I has won cuz there's no way they're going to lose. Thank god I had no money on that
Legionnaire 09-19-2005, 11:43 PM Yep. Cowboys killed me.
